I am very bored of our weekly shop and would like to try some new things. (I blame cooking endless bloody meals in lockdown!)
What interesting things do you buy Sainsbury’s? Or even more generally, what new foods have you recently discovered?
I order online so find it hard to just “browse”.

The Strawberry and yogurt crunch cereal is amazing. Seriously addictive and really filling.

KoalaandRabbit · 28/09/2020 18:27

In the summer have the chicken and lamb koftas with vine leaves

PickAChew · 28/09/2020 18:30

The frozen cherries are fab. I usually have a stash for baking.

Muktiseed bread from their bakery is lovely - I had a delivery driver tell me it always makes him ravenous ly hungry when he has some in the back because it smells so delicious!

AestheticWitch · 28/09/2020 19:44

Bacon flavoured salad sprinkles, they go on pasta, salads, baked potatoes...no bacon in them!

mommydragon · 28/09/2020 19:46

Oggs cakes... think currently only Sainsbury's and Waitrose stock them.

musicinspring1 · 28/09/2020 19:50

Crinkle cut gherkins

TattyMcBab · 28/09/2020 19:52

The multiseed bread cut on the narrowest setting is the best. We usually use Sainsburys as a top up shop but have since lockdown out everything into ocado and that’s what I miss the most. They also sometimes do Grandma Singleton’s Lancashire cheese (I’m down south) which goes very nicely with that bread...

SilverOtter · 28/09/2020 20:48

Their well-fired loaf. Mmmmmmm😋

Whylurkwhenicanjoinin · 28/09/2020 21:15

Not a fan of Ready Meals generally but if they still do them, their Thai green curry and sticky rice is beautiful

Yddraigoldragon · 28/09/2020 21:28

AND!!!!! Echlefechan mince pies! Cross between Eccles cake and mince pie, I have only found them in Sainsbury.

Fancyateapottea · 28/09/2020 21:32

The chocolate orange granola is from Sainsbury’s is the only one I’ll eat. It’s delicious

goingtotown · 28/09/2020 21:54

Jam donuts yummy

ScabbyHorse · 28/09/2020 21:59

Own brand IPA and their organic strong cheddar. Also their TTD ciabatta to go in the oven.

Trekkerbabe · 28/09/2020 22:01

Multiseed bread. Its truly the best bread on earth.

Flossie44 · 28/09/2020 22:07

I adore their.

butternut squash croquettes.
Tenderstem broccoli stir fry
Chipotle red pepper falafel

Sleeptillnoon · 28/09/2020 22:14

I second the Ecclefechan mince pies. They are out of this world. I've never tasted anything like them.

shesgonebatshitagain · 28/09/2020 22:24

Their own label high juice without bloody sweeteners
Orange
Blackcurrant
Alphonso mango and apple

TTD walnut cob
Their Canadian cheddar
TTD oak smoked steamy bacon pancetta rashers

PickAChew · 28/09/2020 22:43

Yes, the butternut Squash croquettes are lovely and a nice lower carb alternative to spuds with a roast. I'd never have tried them if our sainsburys local hadn't stocked them for a while.

And the Ecclefechan mince pies are simultaneously toothachingly sweet and rather moreish.

They used to sell some really great, properly authentic in a red tub gochujang paste but I haven't seen that since lockdown. I've also not seen their taste the difference basmati - even nicer than tilda for a about 2/3 the price.

Sewsosew · 28/09/2020 22:57

Their own brand pop chips.
I can’t get the bloody waffle fries near me!

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 28/09/2020 22:58

They do a very expensive venison casserole (£7) which is amazing...if you can stand to eat Bambi..

Shmithecat2 · 28/09/2020 22:58

Taste The Difference Fish Fingers.

KoalaandRabbit · 28/09/2020 23:02
