I am very bored of our weekly shop and would like to try some new things. (I blame cooking endless bloody meals in lockdown!)
What interesting things do you buy Sainsbury’s? Or even more generally, what new foods have you recently discovered?
I order online so find it hard to just “browse”.

@Gilead

StCharlotte Breakfast slices is what I was thinking of, loved them too!

They were bloody lovely, wish they would bring them back.

Thank you so much for all the ideas. I have added the olives and the chicken to my order - and the breakfast sausage as I have never heard of such a thing! Will try more of the suggestions next week.

Barber's mature cheddar
Graffigna Malbec
TTD Grüner Veltliner
TTD Vanilla Custard - better than lots I've have in restaurants
TTD Ecuadorian 34% Milk Chocolate
All of the own-brand cheapo tinned soups
Ardennes pate

also, if any Sainsburys shoppers want to swap some Lego cards please give me a shout Grin

Anya potato's! They're delicious.

My OH swears by this. When we have proper Indian takeaway he always says the naans etc are great but Sainsbury's curry is better.

We don't shop there now but have to go to stock up the freezer with them.

Firecracker breaded chicken fillets.

Ahh yes. And these!

The Southern Fried ones are great too.

Proper 100% chicken breast & really good quality.

Sausage - the smooth one 😁 I have just eaten a whole bag of their BBQ Crunch Mix it's a bit like Graze but cheaper!

PickAChew · 28/09/2020 17:07

We like the taste the difference paella. The sea bass fillets with soy, chilli and ginger are lovely and Ds2 likes the salmon fishcakes from the freezers. The Indian style lentil quarter pounders, also in the freezer aisle, are lovely with a fried egg on top.

User27aw · 28/09/2020 17:08

Frappuccinofan · 28/09/2020 18:05

Whilst I live near a massive Sainsbury’s and have found loads of gems, not much is coming to mind Blush

Their brioche loaf is incredible

KoalaandRabbit · 28/09/2020 18:05

Lemon curd yoghurt taste the difference range.

Yddraigoldragon · 28/09/2020 18:09

Barbers crunchy cheese, there is a red cheese one as well, is lovely. Also with the prepared veg they have butternut and spinach croquettes which are lovely.

I have Lego cards to give away, not many but happy to put in post?

mrsfeatherbottom · 28/09/2020 18:10

Their chocolate spread is nice, nut free and uses sustainable palm oil.

We love their frozen, ready to bake croissants and pains au chocolat.

NarcissistsEyebrows · 28/09/2020 18:20

I've been shopping at sainsburys for 20 years and I don't know the vast majority of these things!

I love curry so will buy a few of their ready meals for the freezer, thanks for the tips

I like most of the TTD sausage range. I can't think of anything else! Their Pomodoro tomatoes are good. The rest of it is fine, it tastes better than other supermarkets IMO, but I don't have any favourites to recommend.

Oh actually the TTD sourdough pizzas are nice, though Waitrose and Aldi do the identical same ones, for different prices obv Wink Also love their version of Special K red berries cereal.

I've clearly been shopping a narrow selection for too long, and I thought I was adventurous! I guess maybe I buy more ingredients and then do my own dodgy cooking on them...?

Many of the above plus

Frozen dark sweet cherries, eat straight from the freezer or use with yogurt etc.
