Which fictional leader would you want to be in charge right now?

Inspired by the "which prime minister" thread.

Which fictional leader (prime minister, president, empress... Whatever!) would you like to be in control of the current situation?

I'm going for Lord Vetinari, from Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Clever, ruthless, efficient, knows the value of human life (to the penny, having trained as an Assassin) but not sentimental (again, Assassin). Doesn't have to worry about public opinion as there's only one vote for leader in Ankh Morpork, and it's his.

Plus he's got Leonardo da Vinci (ok, Leonard of Quirm) locked in a room and a whole university of wizards to call on. I reckon he'd do a pretty good job.

Who's the fictional leader of men & women you'd like to be currently living under?

Probably someone fron Harry Potter. The political leaders were generally quite incompetent but they can do magic, so could probably just sort coronavirus out with some potion or something.

Gingernaut · 23/09/2020 12:26

Jed Bartlett from The West Wing

MrsAvocet · 23/09/2020 12:26

Gandalf.

I wouldn't mind Jed Bartlett at POTUS, it would be a vast improvement on the current occupier of the West Wing.

I think Dumbledore would be useless. I’m going for Thomas Cromwell as per Hilary Mantel before he went bad.

FairNotFair · 23/09/2020 12:39

Miss Annersley from the Chalet School (her beautiful voice would come across well in press briefings)

planplan · 23/09/2020 12:39

Napoleon the pig

Dr Bravestone from Jumanji. Grin
I suspect that your choice may be motivated by reasons other than his ability to handle a crisis!

Liking the Star Trek original series choice. You'll need to add McCoy though, for the medical expertise. He's got pills that make you grow new kidneys.
