Which fictional leader would you want to be in charge right now?

Inspired by the "which prime minister" thread.

Which fictional leader (prime minister, president, empress... Whatever!) would you like to be in control of the current situation?

I'm going for Lord Vetinari, from Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Clever, ruthless, efficient, knows the value of human life (to the penny, having trained as an Assassin) but not sentimental (again, Assassin). Doesn't have to worry about public opinion as there's only one vote for leader in Ankh Morpork, and it's his.

Plus he's got Leonardo da Vinci (ok, Leonard of Quirm) locked in a room and a whole university of wizards to call on. I reckon he'd do a pretty good job.

Who's the fictional leader of men & women you'd like to be currently living under?

@diplodocusinermine

Hawkeye Pearce from MASH.
He'd be far too busy shagging nurses and making home brew to manage a crisis!

Ellen Ripley.

Despite the Doctor’s suggestion that she looks tired, I’m voting for Harriet Jones.

Frankincense88 · 23/09/2020 18:53

Lyanna Mormont or Hermione Granger for sure!

Susannahmoody · 23/09/2020 18:56

Tyrion Lannister

KenDodd · 23/09/2020 18:57

Darth Vader

KenDodd · 23/09/2020 18:58

Couldn't be worse than the current lot.

Giggorata · 23/09/2020 19:02

I was going to say Jean Luc Picard, but now I agree, Vetinari.

SqidgeBum · 23/09/2020 19:04

Hugh Grant in Love Actually.

AdaColeman · 23/09/2020 19:09

Jack Aubrey, parliamentary experience, experienced at command and diplomacy, long experience of lone decision making, good at forging a team and fostering team spirit.
Jack is clear sighted, single minded and ruthless when required, in fact Jack is everything that Boris isn’t!

adawong · 23/09/2020 19:09

Judge Dredd.

I was going to suggest replacing Boris and Cummings with Merkin Muffley and Dr Strangelove but I fear that may have happened already

motorcyclenumptiness · 23/09/2020 19:22

The Right Honourable Tub of Lard MP would make a better fist of running the country than Boris

FromTheAllotment · 23/09/2020 19:25

Max and co from the St Mary’s chronicles. Because if something goes wrong they could just nip back into History and fix it.

Lord Ventenari without a doubt!

PablosHoney · 23/09/2020 19:32

God, he needs to get a’smiting

KingscoteStaff · 23/09/2020 19:38

Bartlet

And the 11th Doctor.

Stompythedinosaur · 23/09/2020 19:42

Aragorn, or possibly Gandalf.

Redcrayons · 23/09/2020 19:43

Leslie Knope

Gets my vote. We’d all have ring binders with the rules on our doorsteps by morning.

Although I suspect Ron Swanson would be a Brexiter.

Mommabear20 · 23/09/2020 19:46

Lesley Knope, vanellope Von schweets, Santa Clause & Leroy Jethro Gibbs 😁

Actually, no, I think Vetinari would be the best to deal with the devious shits in the Conservative Party who are manoeuvring the country into a no deal Brexit. He could out-devious anyone.
