I've just brushed my teeth and used listerine. I think it's expensive for a mouth wash but I will never buy a cheaper one as I think it is very effective.
Very boring I know, but makes me wonder about others.

Tea has to be Yorkshire Tea.

Coca-Cola/Pepsi.

Sausages. I grew up on Richmond sausages and the thought of eating them now makes me heave.

Clarks/Start-Rite shoes for the DC.

Shampoo & conditioner. I buy Bleach London which isn't mega bucks but it's more than the bog standard supermarket stuff I used to buy before getting highlights.

Plussizejumpsuit · 18/09/2020 19:39

The amount of take out I get from Deliveroo Grin

PatsyPet · 18/09/2020 20:01

I remembered also:
Coffee
Perfume
Foundation and powder; but get lipstick, mascara etc on offer
Jam

I think it’s good to challenge myself sometimes. I think we all can get fixated on brands. Eg sanpro cheap supermarket brand used to be terrible. I tried recently and I was surprised. I might try different baked beans and ketchup on DCs and see if they notice!

@VetOnCall your post reminded me that I don't stint on pet insurance - or human healthcare.

I still think that stinting isn't stinting if you are happy with what you have. Like other posters I love perfume:

But as happy with Monotheme for working from home as Cartier or Guerlain.

Clarke's and a JL coat do me for work (interesting wooded environment) but I like a Caroline Charles evening coat for nights out.

Happy to quaff Sainsbury's cava at home, but a really good champagne can't be beaten on Xmas morning or if someone else is paying.

Azerra instant does me day to day but an exquisite grind from Fortnums and their icy mints or truffles go well after a good supper with friends.

PaulaTrilloe · 09/05/2021 11:15

Waitrose or M &S ketchup (about 70p compared to £2,20 for Heinz) none in my local lidl

IEat · 09/05/2021 12:10

Ham, butter, mince, Ragu type pasta sauce

AlfonsoTheTerrible · 09/05/2021 12:22

Eggs: must be organic and free range.
Anything to do with home furnishing: OKA is my go-to brand for furniture; all flatware is silver or silver plate with monos / crests; every day plates, bowls etc are Meissen; inherited artwork - grandmother was an art historian and grandfather a member of the RCA; Egyptian cotton sheets etc.
Good shoes.
Cat food.

I drink instant coffee and UHT milk. Not fussed about food (I don't eat meat and eat only very little chicken and salmon) and will happily eat generic brands and yellow-stickered stuff and anything past its best-by date. Not much of a drinker, so plonk and cider are fine. I don't have a car so not an issue. Clothes are second-hand - charity shops and eBay are good enough.

But what's in my house? Quality and I'm not apologetic.

dottiedodah · 09/05/2021 12:36

Dunlopillo pillows - DM was right!
Thai Jasmine Rice - you won't go back ever to using inferior rice.
Corn fed chicken.

Appletreehat · 09/05/2021 14:56

Tea bags - Yorkshire Tea or nothing!
Brown sauce
Chocolate spread - nutella wins everytime
Fruit - whenever I've bought cheaper, it tastes bland & is either mushy or goes off quickly
We don't eat much meat, once a week, if that, but when we do, its the good stuff.
DDs footwear and most of her clothes in general
Running trainers
Bras
Eye cream & face oil
Shampoo & conditioner
Washing up liquid
Duvet cover/bed sheets
