For me, its love shack by the B52s. 😫

OP posts:

I think Love Shack is a cracker of a tune!

But so many I agree with here:
Tub thumping, arghhhh!
Fairground by Simply Red is com inducing
Come on Eileen, grrrr
Rock the Boat- hideously cheesy and cringey
Don't stop believin' - can't bear it!

Happy by Pharell

Shut Up and Dance

Can't Stop The Feeling

Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz

I don't mind Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, but I get irrationally angry every time someone asks for it on the radio 2 all request shows. It's so fucking unoriginal! I wish the producers would refuse songs like that.

EasilyDeleted · 04/09/2020 10:50

Perfect by Fairground Attraction
Hold me Now by The Thompson Twins
China in Your Hand by T'Pau

All are as dreary as they come.

Vulgarlady · 04/09/2020 10:55

Lady in red Chris de Burgh. Chris de Bleurgh more likely. 🤮
Wonderful tonight by Eric Clapton. If you listen to the words they actually had a really boring night out.
Actually, I think I really hate the word “lady”.

penguin81 · 04/09/2020 10:56

Angel's by Robbie

LadyofMisrule · 04/09/2020 10:57

I like pretty much every song mentioned here apart from Mr Brightside and Imagine. I don't think this thread is for me :-)

nosswith · 04/09/2020 10:59

It's not the song usually, it's the bad karaoke version by someone supported usually by Louis Walsh or Simon Cowell. Little Mix or Westlife to give two examples.

pasteldechocolateconchispa · 04/09/2020 11:01

I’ll be missing you - can’t think who sings it but was very popular when I was in school.

Can’t stand that dance monkey song, haven’t been listening to the radio in my car so forgot about it, been walking and cycling haha, lockdown got me all in a timewarp

cobblers123 · 04/09/2020 11:10

Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now
We Built This City

Radio 2 must have shares in these two songs, they play them virtually every week.

Also, that diabolical breathy version of Born to be Wild used on a car advert for Volvo. Loathe it.

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 04/09/2020 11:20

Havana by Camila Cabello. Aaaaargh!

Na Na Na

Tenementfunster · 04/09/2020 11:27

Ha ha I’ve always thought that about Wonderful Tonight. It’s basically wow look at my bird. Everyone’s probably really jealous. Get ready, party, go home, go to bed. And you still look a wonderful tonight
Spied · 04/09/2020 11:38

'Sex takes me to paradise' song.

I love a few mentioned on here.
Love 'Your Song' and 'Mr Brightside' is Def a favourite of mine.

unicornpower · 04/09/2020 11:38

Anything by Sam Smith makes me shudder

Titanium-can't remember who its by but it used to be on ALL the time when i was about 21ish and i hate it!
I find Adele so DULL.
Pretty much anything by Robbie Williams-Don't get the fuss!
Sex on Fire- Kings of Leon
Everybody wants to rule the world-Tears for Fears
Another vote for love shack! so annoying!

Keepyourconversationsboring · 04/09/2020 11:44

I was tempted to start a thread on this earlier in the week...radio 2 played The Bangles Eternal Flame & I had to turn it off!

Tappering · 04/09/2020 11:46

I don't get the buzz about Mr Brightside at all. It's a song that doesn't go anywhere. I remember the first time I heard it, in a bar where everyone was going bonkers because it was on, and all I could think was 'meh'.

Anything by Jess Glynne. I absolutely cannot stand her voice. It sounds so strained and like she's screaming for the high notes, and she uses a ridiculous amount of vibrato. I particularly detest the take my hand song that they use for those holiday adverts.

Likewise Sam Smith. Although if I was forced to sit and listen I'd pick him any day over Jess Glynne.

peachescariad · 04/09/2020 11:51

Come on Eileen.....family thinks its funny to play it, or worse, stop my playlist and sneak it on.
There are no words strong enough to describe how much I hate it.

Crystal87 · 04/09/2020 13:08

Anything by Adele or Ed Sheeran. Just a snooze fest.

Liverbird77 · 04/09/2020 13:12

Perfect Day. I hate it.

MadameBlobby · 04/09/2020 13:15

7 days or whatever it was called by Craig David

MadameBlobby · 04/09/2020 13:16

Perfect by Fairground Attraction

Agree. Total shite

NastyBlouse · 04/09/2020 13:28

+1 Dancing in the Moonlight. It's just so wet.

Also: Sylvia's Mother by Dr Hook. All that imploring and pining Angry

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 04/09/2020 15:06

The one by Lukas Graham (?) about being 7 years old or whatever. He sings like he has a gobstopper in his mouth.

peekaboob · 04/09/2020 15:17

This list reads like Heart radio's playlist 😂

squashyhat · 04/09/2020 15:25

All about the bass by Meghan Trainor and What's Up by 4 Non Blondes. The voices are awful and the songs meaningless crap.
