Did anyone here go to the same school as their kids?

Not kids but me and my mum went to the same high school.

I didn't but my ex wife went to same primary and secondary as our DCs. Its fairly common here I can think of loads of other kids at DCs school in same situation. Smallish town though (there are only 6 secondary schools in total), presumably its more likely in smaller towns?

My dad went to the primary my dc are at (only for a year) but the secondary school I went to my dad, mum and grandparents went to and dd will go there too. It's the only secondary school in the area. Oh also dh went there and I think his dad did too.

Very common here. Our town has 3 primary schools and one secondary school. It's also the kind of weird little town that people live in their whole lives.

Dh and I went to same primary and secondary. We didn't know each other really though until teens as three years difference.

Ds is at the same primary school I went to. Lots of parents at the school where there when I was. The head teacher taught me when I was there

Yup, they went to the same nursery, primary school and the eldest is now at the same academy, where the current youngest and the new youngest (still to arrive will go).

Yes me! My DC are the 4th generation of our family to go there...(after me/my sis, my dad and his siblings and my grandad). Several people I was at school with now have kids there too.

No but I think it'd be really lovely and nostalgic to do so

My DS goes to the same school I went to and will probably go to the same high school too (new build but same name so technically I’ve not been in the new school). My dad also went to that primary and high school.

All the teachers in DS’s school are different from when I went but I had two that taught my aunt when I was a student (dad’s sister).

My 2 sons went to the same primary as me and my siblings .
All 3 of my kids attended /attend the same secondary that their dad went to .

Yep, 3rd generation now.

I’ve taught so many kids who’s parents have sat down at parents eve and said they used to come to this school!

Yes, DS1 and i went to same Secondary school, although it changed its name in between.

I went to the same primary schools as my kids and then I worked there too!

Yes, primary school. My mum also went to the same school. It’s not common where I live, there’s only 1 parent I can think of from my primary whose DCs are also there. Plus one teacher!

When DS1 was there, one of the teachers had taught me and I thought he was old back then

No but I was born at the same hospital as DC1!

The midwife who delivered our son also delivered my husband 30 years earlier. Known because an abandoned baby was found on hospital grounds the night my husband was born and it came up in conversation when my mother in law came to visit!

Very common here too. Im a high school teacher and at my kids school pick ups the yard is full of Either people i went to school with, or people I have taught.

My high school is my second choice for my dd this year.

Some of the teachers and office staff are still there too. They all look exactly the same!

My gran and her sisters, my dad and his brothers, and then me all went to the same nursery and got taught by the same people!

Village nursery run by nuns, taught us in their 20s - 40s - 60s.

To add. There are No other options! Just the two.

I would say about 50% of the kids at dd's primary school had parents who'd attended that school. It was the same Reception teacher still as well!

A lot of people in this village have lived here since they were kids.
