Nephew should be quarantining but isn't

Teenager living at home. Just came back from a country where he is required to quarantine on her return.

I can see from my activity tracking app that he is out running.

I don't know if my sister (his Mum) knows and even if she did if there is much she can do, bar locking him in her room or chucking him out.

Do I have some sort of duty to say something or shall I just keep out of it?

my (immunosurpressed) SIl arrived back from France last week then travelled from her hoe 40 miles away and met up with my aged PIL that weekend. PIL took lock down VERY seriously, wiping down shopping, leaving post to decontaminate etc, still haven't been to a shop or pub or anywhere really. They didn't bat an eye.

you know when there were calls for lock down, and people thought the government were leaving it too late, there was talk of lock down fatigue, and that people only had the capacity to do it for so long, well yes, we've reached there haven't we

Report him to the secret police. Then hopefully they can round him up, torture him, and get a signed confession about....that run!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people are obsessed with this quarantine list. Get real.

Some countries on the list have 30 or 40 cases per 100,000 compared to our 20 or 25.

ALL those figures approximate to FECK ALL

These threads are either - It's all Bono's or D Cummings fault (poor guidance or lies) OR it's fine to ignore quarantine rules, nobody's following them.

We were obsessed with quarantine list but then we were on flexible holiday in Europe and managed to avoid all the quarantine countries but it kept changing while we were there which kept us on our toes! Felt like we were on the run! Italy won out in the end

Nothing wrong with a run if it’s in an unpopulated area

merrytombombadil · 28/08/2020 06:35

What harm do you think he's doing exactly? Can you explain why you are so angry that you would report your own nephew? Is it that you think he's going to infect people by going for a run alone, or is it just that he broke the rules? If it's just that he broke the rules, do you also report anyone going 75 on a motorway?

MistressMounthaven · 28/08/2020 06:38

If he is happy to break the rules about going out he might be down the pub tonight.
Can't see why people find that too tricky to get their head round.

Where have I said I'm so angry?
