I'm divorcing DH soon and hoping to just change my name to something I like. I've been saddled with his since the age of 18 Smile

What's your favourite surname? I think I might go with 'Knight'

I like nature names and know or know of people with these:

Flowerdew
Peartree
Nightingale
Fallowfield

mrspotatohed · 23/08/2020 22:03

My exes best mate had the surname Divine and I always loved it

NataliaOsipova · 23/08/2020 22:17

@Sallyspoons

Carrington or Colby, embrace your inner Joan
Love it 🤣
MrsCalypsoGrant · 23/08/2020 22:19

A friend of mine divorced recently & is keeping her married name as she likes it - & that name is Knight!

I've always fancied a Cornish name, especially those beginning with Tre or Pen. I think I'd be a Trevelyan or a Pencavel.

Notmyrealname855 · 23/08/2020 22:21

Prendergast cos somehow it sounds really old and like a dragon name :) and Moriarty cos it’s a real surname!

GU24Mum · 23/08/2020 22:24

@Goyle - another vote for Hamilton. Easy to spell and as it's two syllables,
lots of names will go well with it. I like the vowel sounds - light and upbeat rather than dreary!

MrsCalypsoGrant · 23/08/2020 22:26

Another one I like is Arundel

AdditionalCharacter · 23/08/2020 22:26

Brodie or Abagnale

Current surname is my third one (birth/adopted/married) and I've never truly had one that I feel fits.

SciFiScream · 23/08/2020 22:28

Another vote for Mackenzie (if there's an a it's a small k! Capitals should only be used if the name is Mc... IIRC)

Also:
Janeway
Picard
Archer
Sisco
Kirk
Pike
Riker
Troi

I love the Icelandic naming convention so could you do your Mum's name plus dottir?

bruce43mydog · 23/08/2020 22:28

Munroe a nice warm surname

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/08/2020 22:29

Starr. I've known a few Starrs and they've all been as lovely as their name.

Delatron · 23/08/2020 22:31

Love Fox!

Snorkelface · 23/08/2020 22:32

Dashwood
Darling
Blue

pastaparadise · 23/08/2020 22:36

I'd love to be a
Fox.
Or Travarthan/ Trevelyn.
St John
Nightingale.

My surname is ok but unusual and often mispronounced. Stupidly gave the dc their dad's surname which is awful, but they now know themselves as it and don't want to change. Will double barrel it to water it down but can't get rid of it. Could kick myself for not changing it sooner.

Names I like that I know - Waterfall, Darling, Oakley,

DipSwimSwoosh · 23/08/2020 22:37

King or Best

littlebillie · 23/08/2020 22:43

De Winter

JanewaysBun · 23/08/2020 22:45

Penhaligon - great one!
For me

  1. Anstruther-Treveligan
  2. Thistlethwaite
  3. Anderson
4.Mc something

My married name is boring and my maiden name is AWFUL

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 23/08/2020 22:46

Hambleton or Pembleton

JanewaysBun · 23/08/2020 22:47
