Short survey on Care Bears/Care Bear Cousins (children of the 80s only): it asks how many you had, which ones you had and why you liked them.

www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LT6DGCY

I have no connection whatsoever with the Care Bear franchise - I just got interested in how many bears/cousins of different types were available in the UK and wondered how we all decided which one to pick, back in the day.

I'm a regular poster but have namechanged because it's a bit cringey to admit how much thought I've devoted to the bloody Care Bears Grin I promise to come back and report my findings!

Survey done.

I've still got my carebear. I've given it to DD (5) she loves it.

CareBearFan · 21/08/2020 19:14

Thank you! I'm a mixture of embarrassed and keenly interested to see what people say Grin

Love Care Bears. I bought the modern day ones for DD when she was little but they were so badly made, not a patch on the originals.

bookmum08 · 21/08/2020 19:16

All done. I will tell my cuddly Cheer Bear when I get home. She sits on my shelf next to Roland Rat.

IAmTooBloodyHot · 21/08/2020 19:17

Argh there's a problem with it - question 3 only lets you choose one option (not all that apply)

CaptainCallisto · 21/08/2020 19:24

Done - though I could only select one bear on Q3 (I had more than one). I picked my favourite one, but I feel bad that Grumpy and Love-a-lot didn't get picked.

DS2 has my Care Bears now, as he has gastro issues and they are able to go through a 60° wash in the machine and come out good as new. They were so well made! They've done quite a few stints in hospital over the years and DS is very protective of them because hospital staff keep threatening to steal them 😁

CareBearFan · 21/08/2020 20:03

Doh! I think I have fixed it, sorry!

DappledThings · 21/08/2020 20:07

Sorry, another problem. I chose no to Q1 and then can't submit because there is no option for 0 in Q2.

OhYeahYouSuck · 21/08/2020 20:09

I got my first Care Bear when I was 2. It was just before Christmas and I was walking through a shop with my dad and picked up Funshine Bear and love it. My dad bought it for me. It's in the loft but I still have it. I remember picking it up off the shelf vividly.

Many childhood photos with me and my Care Bear, it went everywhere with me 😁. No wayis DD getting her hands on it. I did buy her the Build A Bear version though.

2020nymph · 21/08/2020 20:13

Done! my sister and I are sorting out our parents loft and have recently come across our care bear collection!

Double doh! Updated, sorry....

I'm amazed and jealous that there were people out there with more than 10!!

Done. This is a sweet thing to have an interest in. I bought my DDs two pink card bears from aldi a few months ago. They're lovely (the bears, not my DC, I can assure you!) Smile

Lochnessgiraffe · 21/08/2020 20:49

Done. Haven't thought about care bears for a long time still have my penguin though. The others got eaten by the dog

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 21/08/2020 20:53

I still have my 33yr old daughters care bear - he now lives in her nephew's cot at my house.

Thank you, that makes me feel better about it Grin DH has said (in an attempt to be reassuring) that it is at least a relatively economical midlife crisis! He hasn't seen how much Nobleheart goes for now, clearly HOW much??!?!

Yes it's worked now.
I loved Bedtime Bear the best, those lovely velvety eyelids.

Yay!

Ah, you're a good soul - thank you! I had stopped bumping as there are over 40 responses and Survey monkey won't let me see more than 40 without an upgrade Sad min cost to upgrade is 32 pounds a month!

IAmTooBloodyHot · 22/08/2020 19:59

£32? Sod that.

So what are your findings so far then? 🧐

Piffyonarockbun · 22/08/2020 20:17

I never had one. I always desperately wanted one though. When I was 25 I got a grumpy bear and then I got a small bedtime bear. My dd plays with them now. I picked them because they were blue. Green is my favourite colour but I think care bears suit blue Grin

LillianBland · 22/08/2020 20:21

I just wish you had put photos on that, so I could see what they all look like.

Plus, well done on using sex. 😁

LillianBland · 22/08/2020 20:22

Oh, I’ve never had one, but I’ve just looked up Grumpy and would love one. 😁

I will provide an overview of the 40 responses I can see shortly! DH has got sucked in and suggests that 32 isn't that much in the scheme of things (!!) so if the survey hits 100 responses I'll go ahead with it Grin
