Anything for the microwave (don’t have one)
Anything frozen (other than occasional ice cream)
And the most shocking one for most people - TEABAGS nobody in the house likes it & I have a phobia of wet tea bags

Deadringer · 16/08/2020 23:32

kitchen roll is compostable.

NoProblem123 · 16/08/2020 23:36

Weightwatchers stuff, or anything low-fat. Would rather do without.
Also, battery or ‘barn’ eggs.

Re. Fabric softeners - am I right in thinking this is liquidised carcasses from slaughterhouses Sad

Flipflopsaga · 16/08/2020 23:46

@Wearywithteens

Fabric Conditioner - a completely unnecessary product
Lucky you! Our water is so hard our towels would be like drying yourself on a cheese grater Grin

Ready meals, frozen food (except ice cream and peas), I avoid brands

tobee · 17/08/2020 00:02

I was thinking I buy all of these things until someone said vegan substitutions. Usually have stupid names too. If I was vegan I would buy pulses, vegetables, legumes etc. If needed cheese things I would not be vegan.

tobee · 17/08/2020 00:03

*cheese things etc

jakeyboy1 · 17/08/2020 00:04

I buy lots of these things everyone seems to be abiding... white bread, tinned beans and even shock horror fabric softener!

One of the most disgusting things I ever saw at a till in Asda though was someone buying a series of "Rustlers" microwave burgers in their bun, many of. Presumably they had it every night for tea. Can honestly say I've never been there.

Hellokitty82 · 17/08/2020 00:05

Avocado 🥑
It's on the Waitrose "essentials" list too?!?!?!
Weird!

Can someone tell me what's wrong with fabric conditioner please?

SaltyAndFresh · 17/08/2020 00:15

Margarine
Corned beef
Tinned veg
Synthetic cream
Processed cheese spreads and slices
Frozen meat and fish

bookmum08 · 17/08/2020 00:15

Laughing at the snobbery against Iceland here. It's not all frozen food (and nothing wrong with frozen food) but regular 'normal' stuff too. Most of the non frozen/fresh is branded products (Kingsmill, Heinz etc). Although at the beginning of lockdown food shopping was great because there was hardly ever a queue for Iceland. I could go in and buy all my food plus loo roll, cleaning stuff, shampoo etc and be home drinking a (brand name) cup of tea while the Sainsbury's queue was still trailing down the road.

Oliversmumsarmy · 17/08/2020 00:16

I find that clothes stink when you use fabric conditioner.

itsureis · 17/08/2020 00:16

This is a fascinating read ... I'm going to save loads of cash by not buying fabric softener alone 😬

bookmum08 · 17/08/2020 00:18

jakeyboy1 maybe the person buying Rustlers lived in a hostel with only a microwave for cooking.

SaltyAndFresh · 17/08/2020 00:18

Stink of what @Oliversmumsarmy? The softener itself?

OhMyDarling · 17/08/2020 00:19

Meat
Dairy
Tea and coffee
Beans
Sauces

Vinosaurus · 17/08/2020 00:20

Reformed ham

AfterSchoolWorry · 17/08/2020 00:21

Tins of tomatoes, when lockdown started everyone was mentioning them as an essential to be stockpiled. What's that all about?
