David Austin roses are beautiful but very expensive, so def try the simple/cost effective route. Also, going for more seasonal flowers as you have is more environmentally friendly too.
I see this time and time again when the person who is paying for the flowers comes to the consultation and you can see the couples looking to them before they make any decisions. There may be a million reasons why your Mum is acting like this but it is you and your partners day, you have to be happy.
Can you arrange a meeting with the florist and your Mum. Us florists are good at smoothing these things out and suggesting compromises you might not have thought of. Good luck!
