If you saw a payslip left open at someone's house, would you take a look?

Assuming you don't already know how much they earn.

No I haven't but I left mine out and wondered if some visitors to my home might have sneaked a peek.

Yes of course
I cant help myself.

Alloverthegrapevine · 29/07/2020 18:49

I think it would be very hard not to if it was just there on the side where I was stood. I would never ever mention what I'd seen to anyone though

Celticdawn5 · 29/07/2020 18:49

Yes, if it was unavoidable ie spread out on a table in front of me No, if it meant actually taking it out of an envelope

1WildTeaParty · 29/07/2020 18:50

Wouldn't the content be a bit boring?
I don't even find my own payslips interesting.

quodvox · 29/07/2020 18:50

No. It's private. Only a lowlife would do that.

DelurkingAJ · 29/07/2020 18:50

No. I’d actively walk away to avoid temptation.

albatrossdreams · 29/07/2020 18:50

No.

LadyofMisrule · 29/07/2020 18:50

No

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 29/07/2020 18:51

Wouldn't interest me!

SengaStrawberry · 29/07/2020 18:51

No

BlueLadybird · 29/07/2020 18:51

I wouldn’t be able to help myself but only if it was already on view. I wouldn’t touch it to get a better look.

FightMilkTM · 29/07/2020 18:51

If it was unfolded on the table then yes, but I wouldn’t look at it if I had to touch it all, I.e take it out of an envelope or unfold it.

(I think anyone who says that they wouldn’t look is a dirty fibber)

Mediaevalmiss · 29/07/2020 18:52

I would if it was clearly about (open on table say)
I wouldn't unfold it, or open an envelope.
And I wouldn't say anything.

SerenityNowwwww · 29/07/2020 18:52

No - but because I’m not nosey but because I know that the minute I peeked they would be standing right next to me and I’d get caught.

Twixes · 29/07/2020 18:52

I'd also actively walk away/look away so I wouldn't be tempted. Of course a part of me wants to know but I was always taught not to be a nosy fecker so I wouldn't.

AmazingGrace16 · 29/07/2020 18:53

What do you earn op?

Babs709 · 29/07/2020 18:53

Yep ^

Pelleas · 29/07/2020 18:53

No, because having that knowledge would make me feel awkward.

ClaraLane · 29/07/2020 18:53

Yep! And I’d expect someone to do the same with anything I’d left laying around. It’s human nature.

Frownette · 29/07/2020 18:54

Definitely not

Itsjustabitofbanter · 29/07/2020 18:54

Depends on whose it was

ShirleyPhallus · 29/07/2020 18:56

@quodvox

No. It's private. Only a lowlife would do that.
Ha ha ha. Behave.

Yes of course I would. I don’t believe anyone would see it and think “AVERT THINE EYES” rather than seeing it before you really process what it is.

Or are these people who say they wouldn’t, the same people who say they’d hand in a fiver to the police if they found it on the floor or give it to charity?

SpeedofaSloth · 29/07/2020 18:56

Probably Blush

Allmyeye · 29/07/2020 18:58

I have been in that situation and I didn’t.

PreviouslyZeus · 29/07/2020 19:00

@AmazingGrace16 cheeky! Around the national average.

I probably would be interested to know myself as I'm nosy (obviously with someone else's payslip) but then I can't un-know the info...

It doesn't really matter if it was seen tbf.
