I love when my hoover crackles, because I know that means it’s picking up all the dirt!

OP posts:
BitchyHen · 29/07/2020 22:07

The sound of sharp scissors cutting fabric.
My cat makes cute little snoring noises when he's fast asleep.

MrsGrindah · 29/07/2020 22:07

Footsteps, but only in films or tv
Heavy wind and rain when I’m indoors. DH and I excitedly run to the window to look out..
My little nieces laugh.. so dirty and sounds like she’s had a fag or two!
Someone mashing potatoes and banging it on the side
My late Dad whistling whilst he did jobs outdoors
My late Mum saying “ Hello sweetheart “ every time I rang her.
The beep of the delivery mans machine a second before he knocks on my door with a parcel.
The sound I make when I turn the pages of a weekend paper.
The low hum of the dishwasher or washing machine doing the boring jobs whilst I’m in bed

NeedToKnow101 · 29/07/2020 22:08

When you cut good quality wrapping paper and the scissors slide along it, rather than cut. That sound.

LioneIRichTea · 29/07/2020 22:12

rain, especially on a window/skylight or a metal roof

that pop a rally car makes

crunching leaves under your foot

that first step into freshly laid deep snow

crickets on a hot summer evening (why I love Greece)

the ocean

opening a can of pop

birds twittering away

when you pierce that foil but in a coffee or Nutella jar

crackling log fire

ExCwmbranDweller · 29/07/2020 22:13

The shipping forecast.

So, so many of the other things on this thread as well. Is it normal to have tingly forearms thinking of all these lovely noises?

LioneIRichTea · 29/07/2020 22:14

*The sound of a car starting on a dark, freezing morning.

Why does it sound so different from any other time? It makes me feel Christmassy.*

Yes I know what you mean Smile

StrumpersPlunkett · 29/07/2020 22:16

don't think I have seen this one.
I love the sound of liquid (mainly wine) pouring from a bottle the gentle glug is soothing.
I too love the sound of sharp scissors cutting material against a wooden table (childhood memories of mum making all our clothes I think)

peakygal · 29/07/2020 22:16

My DD calling me Mommy. She is 7 and ASD. Shes a right chatterbox but was non verbal for a long time. Didn't call me anything until almost 4 and I love it

RaisedbySloths · 29/07/2020 22:23

That first rumble of thunder when it's muggy.

MrsMayo · 29/07/2020 22:24

*SoleBizzz

What is random about your question?*

Dont be a twat.

I love the sound of rain on windows when you are inside and have nowhere to go.

I love the sound of a fan on a hot night, sends me to sleep.

EboracumNovum · 29/07/2020 22:26

Rain on windows
Crackling fires
Thunderstorms
DD laughing
My cat purring
DD's cat making her 'mmrrrrp' noise

daisychain1620 · 29/07/2020 22:29

Wood pigeons (love that coo coo sound), seagulls and magpies.
Crunchy snow
Lashing rain especially if I'm inside
An air conditioner or extrator fan, makes me dozy😴
I also watched a video clip of my now teen boys when they were toddlers, their voices were the cutest! Loved that ❤️

Costacoffeeplease · 29/07/2020 22:33

The sound of make up in a make up bag when you rifle through it
Crackling fire
Cats purring

Mangofandangoo · 29/07/2020 22:35

Mi love it when it snows and you can hear the silent patter of it landing

hobag82 · 29/07/2020 22:36

Heavy rain and thunderstorms
Love the sound of horses clip clopping
I hate snow but love the crunch sound
Fire crackling
That sound it makes when a cricket or rounders bat hits a ball hard
Church bells

ThousandsAreSailing · 29/07/2020 22:37

Footsteps on gravel
Bob Ross's paintbrush tapping on the canvas and his knife scraping the canvas
The sound of the therapist mixing lotions when I'm laid on a bed having a massage
John Levines alpha music
All these sounds make my brain relax and I drift off. I think there is a proper term for it

ThousandsAreSailing · 29/07/2020 22:38

I like the make up bag sound too. I think it fits into the same category as above

chimneyswift · 29/07/2020 22:40

The sound of my children raking through Lego

LittlemissAWOL · 29/07/2020 22:42

High heels on the type of floors you have in shops like M&S.

I think it's from my DGM taking me shopping ever Saturday as a child. She always wore heels and the sound just makes me happy.

SepticTankYank · 29/07/2020 22:51

Some of these are amazing and have filled me with nostalgia.

Mine are:

DP and DD laughing together.

DD laughing on her own.

Rain on a window.

Crickets in a quiet field and birdsong in the morning.

An empty swimming pool when you get in and disturb the water.

One of those proper "normal" doorbells. Reminds me of prom and proper clean homes of friends grandparents who were kinder than my own.

Rustling bags reminds me of primary where everyone would put their snacks in a box and the teacher would hold them up for their rightful owner to claim.

SepticTankYank · 29/07/2020 22:51

Oh and that haunting Christmas church choir.

YorkshirePud1 · 29/07/2020 23:04

The crunching sound frosty/frozen grass makes when you walk on it.
Heavy rain on an umbrella.
The sound of the beach when you close your eyes - a mix of the sea and people talking/laughing etc. It sounds totally different when your eyes are open somehow.
Ice cubes in a glass.
The glugging sound of a bottle of wine being emptied into my decanter (I'm like Pavlov's dogs with that one)

SepticTankYank · 29/07/2020 23:09

Oh and when the chocolate on top of a vienetta cracks
