Going to be serious for a minute.
I know herd immunity is seriously contentious although I always got the rationale behind it but understand why we backed off when we thought the Italian scenario was heading our way but surely it's different now?
We've got at least 4 viable treatment methods that I can think of - cpap, dexamethasone, remdesivir and now the beta interferon trial so shouldn't we be trying for herd immunity especially in our young?
The D's are always accusing us of being selfish but I suspect we're the opposite of selfish as we mostly agree that us getting it would probably be no biggie. Suspect I've had it but not worried about getting it, especially because I know I'm unlikely to get very ill and if I did I think they now have a good idea how to treat me.
Everyone is freaking out about cases on the rise and second spikes. I'm not because I'm not seeing a corresponding spike in hospital admissions, people on vents and deaths. Therefore when I see cases going up I think 'good'.
Am I nuts for having this view? Is there any validity to it?
