What, if anything, do you collect?

As per the title really just for interest. For example one lady was talking on another thread about new mugs for her collection.

There's things I'd like to collect, but my one bed flat lacks both space and storage...

I sort of collect antique furniture and art, but only as far as I need items - I wouldn’t let the house end up looking like a flea market. It’s one in one out if I want eg a new side table.

I used to collect cornishware but again I don’t need any more pieces so that stopped years ago.

WinterAndRoughWeather · 23/07/2020 18:27

Oh, that said, I am slowly building a ceramics and studio pottery collection. I buy a few pieces a year.

AmandaHoldensLips · 23/07/2020 18:28

Since lockdown, I mainly collect dust.

DotDotDotty · 23/07/2020 21:03

I collect fabric

I say I have 3 hobbies, sewing, unpacking (which takes the longest) and curating my fabric stash (which I spend roo much on)!

MarcelineMissouri · 23/07/2020 21:17

Disney Traditions figurines. I love them and have loads. (Massive Disney fan)

Snap!

My house would look like an antique booth if I indulged.

Thingsarel00kingup · 23/07/2020 21:37

Coloured glass, mostly vintage/mid century pieces that have a 'use', even though I don't use them Blush

I build a collection of a couple of colours at a time until it feels there's enough of those colours. I've got green, turquoise, purple/pink, orange, smokey grey and yellow so far...

They're displayed in groups, by colour, and are the only colours in a fairly neutral house. Only one colour glass per room though. Green in the bathroom, pink/purple in my room, smoky grey in the kitchen, turquoise in the living room, orange in the hall. Yellow hasn't got a home yet...

I dream of having a huge window (in my fantasy loft apartment) where they could all be displayed as a rainbow of glass on glass shelves, with the light shining through.

And notebooks! Cos who doesn't love a beautiful, new notebook. This is accidental collecting though as I can't bear writing in them, it spoils their newness! So I buy another one, intending to write in it, then don't want to spoil it, so I buy another one and on and on it goes!

I find the idea of collecting things rather strange. I have never collected anything. I too have lots of stationery but don’t really collect it.

pennysea · 23/07/2020 21:45

WinWinnieTheWay · 23/07/2020 22:12

Books? My house is stuffed full of them. I'll never have enough and I'll never stop.

HowFastIsTooFast · 23/07/2020 22:16

A fridge magnet and a Christmas decoration from everywhere I've travelled. I don't like clutter so they're ideal, one sits on the fridge and the other only comes out once a year, decorating the tree is literally a whole world of memories Smile

Holothane · 23/07/2020 22:20

Dr who dvds blu ray I now have 13 dr who mugs one for each dr.

Northernsoullover · 23/07/2020 22:22

Fridge magnets. I sound very boring in comparison to some of you.
