What, if anything, do you collect?

As per the title really just for interest. For example one lady was talking on another thread about new mugs for her collection.

There's things I'd like to collect, but my one bed flat lacks both space and storage...

Trainers, I could wear a different pair each day for about 100 days Blush

namechange30000 · 24/07/2020 21:53

Cleaning stuff. I just love buying it.

illbestraightback · 24/07/2020 21:55

Pounds. I store them on my thighs so I never forget where they are.

Artus · 24/07/2020 21:59

Vintage green Penguin crime books. Getting harder to find these days.

polkadotpixie · 24/07/2020 22:22

Yankee Candle wax tarts
Pokemon

Bananalanacake · 24/07/2020 23:10

Playmobil figures and smartie lids, they don't make them anymore.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 24/07/2020 23:26

@pennysea

I collect vintage Disney items.
I have some Lady & The Tramp figures from the '70s
TheUnquestionedAnswer · 24/07/2020 23:27

Frogs

Yawwwwwwwn · 24/07/2020 23:48

Squashed pennies from attractions like @CatBatCat

Odd pennies

Tokens

Even plastic beer tokens from festivals

Commemorative coins (if it's something I like -I have a 'plague 2020' coin)

Foreign coins

Old coins

I freaking love coins

Oh, and a random jar of buttons, sensory toys/ fidget toys, driftwood, survival stuff.

SkiingIsHeaven · 24/07/2020 23:52

50 pence pieces and sea glass.

  • Mugs from wherever we were.
  • yarn from every business travel, vacation, or because it's soft and squishy and beautiful. They do end up as garments though, so it's and in-out system. And I love eg. wearing my pullover which is partially from San Fran and Budapest :)
  • Magic the gathering cards (hobby together with son)
  • books, but I had to give it up after we left 3000+ in the country we used to live in
  • experiences and photos of them. Since digital this is less of a burden both financially and space wise.

Fat. Especially around my stomach, thighs, upper arms and chin. I really should have done PE with Joe!

BopToTheTop · 25/07/2020 00:52

Disney Limited Edition Dolls, an expensive collection that I started around 6 years ago

StCharlotte · 25/07/2020 01:46

I was emptying my cupboards hunting for a particular item and it turns out I collect jugs. I have 23. Also Christmas decorations from my travels (best ones I've got are from Slovenia and The Netherlands). No new ones this year Sad

SimplySteveRedux · 25/07/2020 01:56

Teddy bears!

penelopeplums · 25/07/2020 02:53

Sea glass if I lived anywhere near the sea but we rarely get there.

GlamGiraffe · 25/07/2020 03:14

We started as a joke collecting hotel keycards to see if we could get away without giving them back when they are usually requested. We now have quite a few. I wish we'd started 20 years ago as we would have a magic collection of hundreds and it would be a treasure trove of memories.

mathanxiety · 25/07/2020 04:22

God, me too, @clpsmum

Shock Grin

scrivette · 25/07/2020 04:35

Library Collection books (think they are called something else now) which is a set of classic reading books but are very small. I always ask for them at birthdays and Christmas.

Notebooks, like the PP I get new ones and don't write in them so get more.

Pebbles when we go to the beach and I write the date and where they were from on them and put them around the pond so I can remember the day when I see them.

Kote · 25/07/2020 05:03

Postcards from everywhere I visit

HotSauceCommittee · 25/07/2020 05:07

Art materials. I haven't done anything since lockdown started and I'm fed up with myself.
I have acrylics and watercolours untouched. I gave away my oil paints to someone on FB because I'd had them for ages and never used them.

pollyglot · 25/07/2020 06:42

Prinknash pottery (family connection), scarves from all the places I've travelled to (light, squishy, and forgiving of weight gain). Someone I know collects fruit stickers. Weird.

Time40 · 25/07/2020 07:06

Vintage knitting patterns. They have to be either camp or awful, or both. Knitting patterns for nice, normal garments modelled by nice, normal looking models don't make it into the collection. It's surprising how many models of knitting patterns look as if they're on powerful mind-bending drugs or are gleeful about having just buried someone under the patio.
