Yes, @PinkFondantFancy surely should get the outcomes of the new cases that affects decision making?

If they are mostly mild and no Sadly Deaths that's a very different scenario.

Good afternoon everybody. I've not been about for a few days and it took a while to find you all.

ISaySteadyOn · 19/07/2020 16:26

I've just been very brave for me and actually dared to send an email to Rishi (or prob Rishi's PA or something like that) about mask wearing.

I doubt he'll actually see it or anything but maybe it will be put in a useful pile somewhere and now I feel like I have done something so there's that.

Orangeblossom78 · 19/07/2020 16:48

I don't think they could afford another national lockdown. I noticed the council now has a management plan thing online in case of outbreaks. Guess they all do now.

SpnBaby1967 · 19/07/2020 17:11

So, we found the same car at even cheaper. Still ummed and arrrhed but in the end I enquired with the garage (as their up in Sutton in Ashfield) and they cut a good deal so I've paid a reservation and we're going to view it friday. I've actually test driven the same model so know what to expect.

I'm ridiculously excited!

Willow2017 · 19/07/2020 17:34

Oh I need another car. Not too g to get much for mine and new one will be as cheap as poss but mine is a gas guzzler and I really don't need one that big now. I spent ages at the beginning of the year looking for something then it all went pear shaped. Plus my head was mince!
Need to start again.

Also need to.check up on ds2s school stuff. He has been accepted on the college course apparently so i need to see if he needs a bus pass, if there even will be a bus from school now, what days it will be etc. Argh my brain hurts just thinking of having to concentrate on anything just now. Have worked twice as many hours this week than i have done in a week since Jan and I am knackered!

Willow2017 · 19/07/2020 17:35

Not going to get much £ for mine!!
My phone hates me.

Hello all. For the first time in weeks we’ve been out and about this weekend. Yesterday we went to a local village as I wanted to go to the jewellers and one of my favourite clothes shops. We had lunch at a cafe in our village and then went to the pub with friends in the afternoon. We popped into our local town today as I needed to go to Marks and Boots. It was lovely. A few masks but we weren’t made to feel like murderers because we weren’t wearing them.

After the pub yesterday we went back to our friends for a takeaway and topped up with more wine. DH was ‘in his cups’ and kept on saying what a lovely day he’d had and how he just felt normal. I said to him this morning that I didn’t realise just how much this was affecting him. He’s usually quite laid back but it really became clear yesterday just how much this is getting to him.

I hope they read it but I think it will only be if footfall doesn't pick up or falls that any changes will be made.

Interesting from another thread I searched the link for the law on face masks and the only one I can find is transport so I wonder if they will say it's mandatory but actually leave it as guidance but not say so.

We haven’t done much today, although DD had a proper in person outdoor rehearsal for Joseph. The first non zoom one since March. They were meant to perform it over Easter, now they’re doing it in August in an outdoor theatre 2m away from one another. Even though she was soaked by the end because of the rain DD was buzzing at actually seeing her friends and getting to do a real rehearsal.

SpnBaby1967 · 19/07/2020 18:16

This looks positive, not so for the VE Day Conga Dementors though, from BBC

^The head of the Office for National Statistics has said said he hasn't noticed an uptick in coronavirus cases in the UK since lockdown measures were eased.

Prof Sir Ian Diamond told Sky News's Sophy Ridge: "If we are really super careful and if we are able to follow all the rules, it does seem to me that we should expect there to be a relative flatline at the moment.

"Clearly over the autumn we will need to be ever vigilant."^

mightbealittlebitmad · 19/07/2020 18:19

Had a lovely day here, very very normal. Brunch out with the in-laws, 10 of us in total, place was very non dementory, kids running around with nobody acting like they were plague carriers.

This is what people need, interaction with friends and family, keeping everyone apart long term is not healthy for anyone. I get really annoyed with the posts judging people not social distancing, of course we aren't, we are human and need human company.

I'm in a much better mood since being back at work, I need to be around other people other than the people I live with. I'm in a position to tackle my excessive eating and drinking to lose the lockdown weight gain and I'm not feeling half as teary.

My town is annoyingly on the risk of lockdown list so my village could be included, depends how local they go really. I am really hoping we don't get locked down, I feel for the people in Leicester, they are looking at a minimum of 4 weeks, I hope they get let out after that, people can't possibly think it's justifiable to keep people locked up for months on end, if things aren't improving after so long it's probably time to admit the measures aren't working anyway.

PinkFondantFancy · 19/07/2020 18:48

Anyone want to join a bit of a 'lose the lockdown lard/get healthier again' thread or group? I really really need to get an urgent grip of myself, I'm really disappointed how much I've trashed my body since March and it wasn't exactly a temple then to start with :(

NothingIsWrong · 19/07/2020 18:49

@PinkFondantFancy

me definitely.

After I finish this bottle of wine if that's OK?

I am trying to get my motivation to lose the pounds. DH has lost lots since lockdown but I went the other way.

I did an exercise video today and no alcohol. Tiny steps Grin

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 19/07/2020 18:57

@PinkFondantFancy I need a "kick lockdown lardarse" thread, I'll join. I was doing slimming world before all this, with good results, but it's all gone to shit now.

Have had a glorious day and a half. Spent yesterday afternoon at my mum's. Dad is in hospital following his cancer op (which seems to have gone well) so she needs the company. Spent the afternoon there with dds watching classic Disney and eating pizza, slept over, mum and I watched Hamilton and ate tiramisu, then today we all, plus DH, went to Castle Howard and had a brilliant day. Only need one more visit to break even on the years' membership now!

Am going to try not to look at any other threads* today so I don't ruin my good mood!

Absolutely! I'm early on the weight loss journey, 4lb down (although somehow I seemed to have put 1lb on this morning Confused ). I need to shift a good 2.5 stone.

HeIenaDove · 19/07/2020 19:47

@LivinLaVidaLoki I prefer the 1990 miniseries version of IT.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 19/07/2020 19:54

Me too @helenadove
Though I was about 12 when I saw it and after the scene with Beverly in the bathroom, I was terrified of going in ours!

I was just really disappointed as it bore little relation to the book at all.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 19/07/2020 19:57

Browsing nail colours for when I go away was torn between neon pink and a nice yellow....but then I saw this....

Opinions? Least I know you'll all be honest with me 😀
