Songs that make you sob

Sorry, I know this topic has been done before but...
Recently watched The Falling, and Florence Pugh sings Voyage To The Moon- it's only a brief moment, but I had never heard the song before and I cannot stop thinking about it. I've listened to Donovan and the Mary Hopkin version and I'm sobbing! Absolutely bawling my eyes out! It is such a sad sweet melancholy song. It's making me think of the DCs as babies and how little DD (4) is growing so big now...

Are there any songs that have given you the same reaction? I can't stop listening and crying!

Disclaimer- this may be a result of lockdown hysteriaGrin

By Enya
You'll never walk alone
I have a video on my phone of my late dd singing this when Celtic won the Scottish cup.

I love so many of these but want to add Crow by Bears Den and Bridge over Troubled Water. Both of these are in the list of songs that make me think of my parents; who’ve both died recently.

ladybird69 · 28/08/2020 21:20

@minigrimms I’m trying to find Lullaby is it on an album?

Nights in white satin by Moody Blues, so emotional

I think the only song that’s ever made me cry was I Dreamed a Dream from Les Mis. I’d not long broken up me my ex-f when I went to see it.

Ffsnosexallowed · 28/08/2020 22:05

Sunshine on Leith - just heartbreakingly sad

booearing · 28/08/2020 22:07

Side by Travis
My brother listened to it all the time before he died
So it reminds me of him.

Remona · 28/08/2020 22:12

“Forever Autumn” by Justin Hayward. Reminds me so much of a special person many years ago. I can hardly bear to listen to it.

“Desecration Smile” by the RHCP. I listened to it a lot when I was in a dark place and the words summed up how I felt at that time. It still makes me feel really melancholy.

Also Adele’s “Someone like you” and “Sunshine on Leith” by the Proclaimers both have me wailing.

KateF · 28/08/2020 22:12
