Flying Ant Day

So many flying ants here (South East) we've got the patio doors shut. Does it happen on the same day all over the UK or is this a localised thing?

Bloody loads here in Kent!! I had never heard of this until I saw it on a local forum- I thought my garden must have dead mice everywhere

Yes! I was trying to convince my dh that flying ant day was a thing (loads here today as well, south), but he wasn't having any of it. I've just told him that I was definitely right, because Mumsnet says so, and he's now quoting stats from google at me about percentages of ants on days throughout this month. He's wrong, we're right. It's flying ant day.

Just pulled one out of my hair. I've been inside for a few hours now so it had clearly decided to live there now. On a side note, I may have to adjust my hair care routine..
