I used to know a yellow Labrador called Briggs. Admittedly, that was the name on the tag on his collar so was most likely the name of his family. But it seemed to suit him ( as far as I was concerned) so he was always Briggs to me, whatever his actual name may have been. If I ever have a male yellow Labrador, he will be called Briggs.

have a very funny story of how we named our family dog.
when i was 6 dad bought me my first dog but at the time she was called sweep which didnt suit her. despite many discussion we could not agree on a name.
anyway one night at 3 in the morning my mum shot up in bed shook my dad awake and said ive got it! the dogs name!
as you can imagine dad was not really that fussed at that time in morning esp as he would have to get up in 2 hours!

mum said as it was coming up to decimal day when the UK currency changed well penny was the only coin in both new and old money!
clever and Penny was my childhood dog and died just before her 14th birthday
