We are going to Alton towers
Wish I’d held off booking tickets as the weather is much better on Sunday than Saturday
And we have to wear masks on the rides

@userxx

at least the weather appears to be shocking for most of the country on Saturday. It should slow it down a bit!

Aren't you a little ray of sunshine.

If you read my previous post you'd see that I'm all for a reopening, just that doing it on a Saturday seemed a little daft. Reopening on the Monday would probably encourage much safer behaviour. Let's not be under any illusion, Saturday will see some worrying crowds and social distancing will be broken, many many times over. Having a beautiful day like last week will only exacerbate the problem, we saw it in Bournemouth. So yes, the fact that it will be raining, all day, in large parts of the uk on Saturday is very much welcome in my eyes.

I'm finally allowed to use my beach hut from Saturday..! The irony is we are waiting for an announcement for local lockdown as we are in top list for shut down... the Covid express trains from London to our beaches are to thank for that.!!

Non we’re staying put it’s going to be chaos.

I’ll probably be taking the dog for a walk and enjoying the peace and quiet as everyone else on my usual routes will have buggered off to the pub or theme park or to pick lavender. GrinConfused

I do like the thought of nipping to the local to sit in the beer garden, but all the rules and restrictions and having to book a table 3 weeks in advance doesn’t half take all the fun out of it imho. I’ll maybe wait a few weeks and hope the novelty wears off and the spontaneity returns a bit.

QueenCT · 01/07/2020 15:24

Working from home and shielding. Groundhog Day....

VaTeLaverLesMains · 01/07/2020 15:38

Shielding. Which is getting harder by the day.

People are not taking care and I'm struggling to get a walk safely, unless I get up early or go out late.

I know! I've downloaded various apps so I can book, order and pay!!! Spur of the moment visits wont be on the cards for a while. It's better than nothing though and hopefully the cafe/restaurant owners and landlords can breathe a sigh of relief.

Whatelsecanipossiblydo · 01/07/2020 17:12

My husband lost his job today so our plans for a little trip out are down the pan. Instead it will be cutting luxuries like Netflix, budgeting and job hunting. Gutted.

Totteridge · 01/07/2020 17:16

Food shopping as we have a local market.

Pub re-opening should have been midweek.

wanderings · 01/07/2020 17:20

I don't understand why they chose to let the pubs (shining examples of public health and civility) open instead of the gyms. It seems like only yesterday the government were telling us we're all too obese and need to exercise more. Or is it because Boris so badly wants to be liked?

mrsed1987 · 01/07/2020 17:43

Going to my parents for some food, at least we can go inside now!

We only really went to pubs to eat before so will just be carrying on as we are really

MintyCedric · 01/07/2020 18:08

Whole day at home with the house to myself writing Smile

MsRinky · 01/07/2020 18:32

Driving 200 miles to see my parents for the first time since Christmas.

I can understand not opening gyms yet, each piece of equipment would have to be screened off & the whole lot cleaned every time it was used (including the screens) the gym would have to employ more cleaners than customers! As far as I can make out all indoor sport is still off (I know you can’t play tennis indoors yet & that would be far less risky than a gym, or a pub!)
Aposterhasnoname · 01/07/2020 19:54

I’ll be staying home. Not because I’m scared of the virus, far, far from it, but I do think it’ll be carnage with piss heads drinking their own alcohol and kicking off when refused entry to pubs.

ClashCityRocker · 01/07/2020 20:01

No plans for the pub this weekend, although we wouldn't usually go in the first place so will give first shout the regulars. and let them iron out any problems first

I hope it goes smoothly and that social distancing can be retained. We had a few pubs doing takeaway pints down by the river and it was rammed, although carnage has been avoided so far.

Will likely go to our favourite restaurant midweek though.

VeganCow · 03/07/2020 16:12

long dog walk (in the pouring rain Grin) and then Netflix in bed at night. Don't like pubs in normal times so wouldn't be going out anyway. Would normally be walking on a beach at weekends but that will have to wait for 2 weeks.

Bargainhuntbore · 03/07/2020 17:13

Nothing. Were not open😡🙄

Jimdandy · 03/07/2020 17:36

@Midnight0 me too!

Annoyingly I am very close to the border in Glen Parva!!

BarbedBloom · 03/07/2020 18:14

Nothing, I am still shielding.

rayn · 03/07/2020 18:16

Hair cut! Yippee....

Angel2702 · 03/07/2020 18:27

An exciting day of deep cleaning the oven and sorting washing. I braved a few shops this week for the first time. That’s enough excitement for now.

Solomi · 03/07/2020 18:31

Nothing..maybe a walk in the park.
I dont drink and i have been saving money by not eating out and I'll continue to do so until the restaurants stop being as busy as I expect they're going to be.

daisypond · 03/07/2020 18:34

Staying in. The one thing I want to do is go to the theatre, and they aren’t open, and by the time they are open, most will have gone under.

Lipz · 03/07/2020 18:44

I'm in Ireland, is your pub opening going to be the same as ours was.... Book in advance, 1hr 45 mins in the seat then leave. Food spend must be a min of 9 euro. No food no drink! Or can you go for as long as you like?
