We are going to Alton towers
Wish I’d held off booking tickets as the weather is much better on Sunday than Saturday
And we have to wear masks on the rides

Getting up at the crack of dawn to go on the playground then staying in all day to avoid people.

ritzbiscuits · 01/07/2020 09:52

Not going anywhere near pubs/restaurants, it's going to be carnage. I'm happy to stay at home and go for a ride on my new bike.

Lockdown has taught me as a family how much we like quality time at home, we don't need to go out all the time.

Llamazoom · 01/07/2020 09:53

Staying home, I live in a town that has an exceedingly large caravan site, they will be coming in droves and swarm through our little supermarkets like a plague of locusts. Hopefully they don’t bring the virus with them, our little town has done well during the crisis.

People who are planning on going out on Saturday are not 'idiots'. Piss off to those that are saying they are. There are rules in place. Pubs are not going to risk losing their licences.

I'm going camping for a week on Saturday. We're only going a 35 minute drive away from home and I can't bloody wait.

tinseltitsandlittlegits · 01/07/2020 09:56

What I've been doing for the last 3 months. Going for a walk then back home to play in the garden ( pool hopefully) with the kids.i don't drink alcohol but if I did I wouldn't be going to a pub it will be carnage.

Toomboom · 01/07/2020 09:57

Staying in. I live near Alton Towers and dreading the amount of queues there are going to be on Saturday when they finally open.

WildSkitty · 01/07/2020 10:01

I'll be at home. We are still in lockdown and should still stay at home as much as possible. So I'll be doing that.

mogtheexcellent · 01/07/2020 10:02

Staying in as usual. Baking a cake for DDs birthday, we are having a garden party with PILs on sunday.

Will be going to the pub at some point in the next couple of weeks. Neither DH or I drink but we live in a village and need to support facilities or lose them.

nextnamex · 01/07/2020 10:05

having my hair cut and dyed (looking like Hagrid currently)

jellybeanz1212 · 01/07/2020 10:07

Working at the train station and not looking forward to the drunk people being back, it's been nice without them Grin

pumpkinpie01 · 01/07/2020 10:07

I really want to take my ds6 somewhere with my friend and her son , she is a single mum working from home busier than ever I think they could both do with a day out and some company , can't decide where to go thou ! We live between 2 pubs and I think it's going to be full of drunks Saturday night . One of the pubs was fined the other month for serving drinks so I can't think the landlord is going to be restricting how many people, drinks etc.

Lockdownlooks · 01/07/2020 10:08

I suspect the alcohol worries will include people drinking at home before the booked slot at the pub. Maybe on street after with their own alcohol (maybe not legal but possible on first day at least.) Also unscrupulous pub owners that allow people to get drunk (I know most are doing things properly to keep everyone safe and avoid any new lockdown).

vodkaredbullgirl · 01/07/2020 10:08

Catching up with sleep (night shift worker)

SomewhereEast · 01/07/2020 10:09

The weather forecast for the weekend isn't great so we'll probably stay put. Will definitely be hitting the playgrounds next week though and we've got a hairdresser friend coming over to do all our hair. Longterm my plan is to do days out etc on weekdays - it seems fairer if those of us who can use those days & free up the weekends for people on Mon-Fri work schedules

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 01/07/2020 10:15

nothing special. It's restaurants I've been missing more than pubs, and my three favourites are staying closed for a couple more weeks to get organised. We'll book as soon as they're ready. In the meantime we'll crack open a bottle and watch Hamilton on Disney+.

Zenithbear · 01/07/2020 10:16

We're going to our cottage for a week. Got a restaurant and pub table booked. Rest of the time we'll be walking and chilling. Really looking forward to a change of scenery.

SecretSquirreI · 01/07/2020 10:17

Staying put while everyone else spreads their germs.

Will do some theme parks on weekdays once the novelty has worn off a little.

Nquartz · 01/07/2020 10:18

Local farm on Saturday & strawberry picking with the in-laws (from a distance)

We'll go the pub for lunch in a couple of weeks when the weather is better so we can sit outside

SecretSquirreI · 01/07/2020 10:19

Oh and the animal crossing update will be out. So I'll be playing that even more than usual. Wink

heyheyho · 01/07/2020 10:19

@AlternativePerspective

Shielding anyway but if I wasn’t I would be staying home.

The people flocking to the pubs on Saturday are the ones who will be blaming the government when their town ends up back in lockdown in a couple of weeks, when actually these spikes are the fault of the idiots, not the fault of the government.

No it won't. There is social distancing in place and precautions. Do you want the economy to tank? there will be far more deaths with that than Covid. Far more. I'm sick to the back teeth of people wanting everything shut forever. It's a disgrace quite frankly. The shielded can shield. Let us get on with our lives.
Aragog · 01/07/2020 10:22

Oh I wish were were heading to Alton towers! I do live a theme park.

But reality is not very much. My parents are heading down to a nearby town, the day after to stay at my brothers house (currently empty as he's spent lockdown at his girlfriend's house.) We've not seen them for a couple of months since my nana's funeral and they are down to deal with some of the stuff linked to that so will fit in seeing them then.

18y dd and her friends have made the sensible decision to not go out for drinks which I'm pleased about.

sunshinesupermum · 01/07/2020 10:22

Staying home as usual. In any case weather forecast is for rain otherwise would be in garden. Not mixing with outsiders AT ALL.

Nquartz · 01/07/2020 10:22

We've got haircuts booked for Wednesday, she's mobile so coming to our house. If it isn't too windy we'll get it done in the garden!

Aragog · 01/07/2020 10:23

We did enjoy a visit to the wildlife park last weekend though which was really nice, and really well organised. It felt very safe.

supersop60 · 01/07/2020 10:25

Off on holiday. Self-catering and lots of walking. This has been booked since last October (in the UK) and I have been crossing my fingers for the last 3 months.
If I'd had nothing booked, I would be staying in and pottering about as normal.
