Am gutted Cafe Rouge has gone it was my go to at lunch time in Cheshire Oaks after a couple of hours of shopping could rest my feet indulge in some nice food and get a little squiffy, it is my birthday treat.
There are no eateries open in cheshire oaks so unless they ease up by September I shall not bother.

PickAChew · 02/07/2020 19:27

That bloody apostrophe is annoying me.

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 19:28

Well the caveman had two eggs for breakfast, liver on toast for lunch, liver, sausage, bacon and onions for dinner. He is going to blow holes in the clean sheets tonight isn`t he Angry

Allflightscancelled · 02/07/2020 19:28

@ILoveTotoro it is shocking, I agree. Fortunately my mum's deaf as a post so she was blissfully unaware even though everyone else in the veg aisles had their jaws on the floor . My dd works in Morrisons and said she'd have been fired.

I must say all the staff in That particular Sainsbury's looked they were there under sufferance.

HeadSpin5 · 02/07/2020 19:29

We’ve booked a table for the pub garden of our local ok Sunday. Absolutely cannot wait. We’ve been walking past it all lockdown and can finally go in!! So pleased for the owners

BakewellTarts · 02/07/2020 19:29

Hmm same here...makes me so cross children should be a priority not an afterthought!

Dowser · 02/07/2020 19:30

New thread title ideas folks

Who’s taking one for the team?

PickAChew · 02/07/2020 19:31

That's a shame about cafe rouge. Ours disappeared over a year ago, despite being fairly popular in tourist season. I don't think it could weather the long winters, though.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/07/2020 19:34

I once spent a half school year teaching in a non-uniform, first-names school and I loved it. We had a hot early summer that year (70s building) and the windows barely opened 2 inches, but at least everyone could pick comfy clothes, sorts, vest tops, t-shirts and it was just easier to crack on and teach rather than all the petty bullshit about blazers on/ off and the right trousers and skirt lengths or the horrors of wearing comfortable shoes. It was just a nicer atmosphere. Not an academic area at all, but the relationships were really strong.

Having survived Eurgh de Teenager after PE in a stuffy classroom, no wonder I'm not stressing about a pesky virus!

PickAChew · 02/07/2020 19:35

Cave man is going to need a whole pack of these, if he's not careful.

ADs are tying the knot (with freshly washed hands)
ADs guiding their way back to school
ADs propping up the bar

We've not been so random this time!

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 19:40

Well in Scotland Wales, no weddings, no school, no pubs just yet. You`ll all have to celebrate without us.

CruCru · 02/07/2020 19:43

Here you go.

Dowser · 02/07/2020 19:44

How’s about

ADs have had enough of malakas
On July 4th , they’re going to go crackers.

HeadSpin5 · 02/07/2020 19:45

@justasking111 😨

BlackberryViolet · 02/07/2020 19:47

Gutted about Bella Italia. It was one place where I could guarantee that my fussy autistic pair, with a raft of sensory issues plus one coeliac and a lactose intolerant veggie could get fed. It was their first choice for a birthday meal. They did gluten free carbonara! She’s going to be gutted when she finds out

fartingsparkles · 02/07/2020 19:53

@country excellent news all round!

I too was a teacher in a previous life, and still have a few friends who are (all AD and keen to be normal!). I did a stint with no uniform, no teacher dress code and 1st names, and it was great. I hate the uniform battles and would love secondary schools to adopt a similar 'polo, sweatshirt, pants/skirt' policy like primary. I understand the need for 'something uniform' but hate the trussed up look with blazer, tie etc. The most fussy aresed ones round here have been instigated at the behest of new heads taking over less than great schools.

I gave up work after having dc1 as late dh's job wasn't school hour friendly and commute was unpredictable. I had been doing supply so had no permanent role to return to and we had no reliable external help. Little has changed, except dh died. I feel very lucky to have had the choice to be a sahm and have always been happy to be so (terribly unfeminist I know.

I am glad she didn't hear, my elderly relatives would have been very scared and upset at that reaction

I know what you mean re staff under sufferance. I took DD in new look the other day as she had vouchers she has been itching to spend. And staff all had faces like smacked arses even though there was barely any customers in there. And also over heard staff blatantly moaning about the fact they even had customers . Made me want to never shop there again tbh. These were young 20 - 30s women, hardly the at risk demographic

@SockYarn

Masks now compulsory in shops in Scotland.

FUCK THIS SHIT.

Malakasmene is the female term... In case you wondered 😁
DamnYankee · 03/07/2020 02:12

Never noticed this! Hope my DS is never a malaka. I'll do my best.
Laughs much needed over here!

justasking111 · 03/07/2020 17:31

That chess board with a pigeon knocking the pieces over, shitting on it and declaring they have won, has just occurred with dementor OH. 15k nursing home deaths, OH says no autopsy so probably not covid at all just normal deaths.
