label says handwash only.

God no, life is too short for that! In the machine with the rest of the washing.

Gumbo · 29/06/2020 16:38

This is bringing back a flashback of when my mother bought me my first bras when I was 12 years old - and told me I had to handwash them ShockHmm. I have vivid memories of scrubbing the hateful things in the basin and getting blisters on my knuckles from rubbing the white straps clean... and rubbing the painful blisters right off to raw skin. I HATED my bras! My mother relented and 'allowed' me to put them in the washing machine with her own bras Sad

All of mine now go straight in the machine, regardless of what the label says!

dementedpixie · 29/06/2020 17:04

the mesh bag means that if a wire comes out it doesn't get caught up in the machine.

Never have. Ever.

Prettybluepigeons · 29/06/2020 17:36

The mesh bag didn't prevent the wire coming out and SMASHING the glass of my washing machine!

bluefoxmug · 29/06/2020 17:40

the mesh bag stops the bra straps twisting around other garments in the machine as well.

I need underwires and errant wires can cause horrible damage to a washing machine ( have experienced)so I either put them in one of those mesh containers that I am confident will not come undone or wash by hand.

bluefoxmug · 29/06/2020 18:38

what does an underwire do that can't be done with a few pieces of fabric?

dementedpixie · 29/06/2020 18:40

I'm 36GG. I need the support of a wire

borntobequiet · 29/06/2020 18:41

Yes, always.

Yellredder · 29/06/2020 19:19

I usually put them in a padded bag in the wash, they're all wired and had to get the engineer out once when I didn't use a bag and the wire escaped! But today I have actually handwashed four of them as the weather's so bad that I don't know when I can get things out on the line again.

SoftBlocks · 29/06/2020 19:21

Yes because a wire escaped and nearly killed my in-laws washing machine.

employeewoes · 29/06/2020 19:21

bluefoxmug I have very pointy boobs. Like that bra Madonna wore >>

A wire and some padding gives me a much better shape.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 29/06/2020 19:26

I use special semi rigid bra bags and wash on the “handwash” cycle and hang to dry. My bras are massive and (to me) very expensive so I am careful with them.

labazsisgoingmad · 29/06/2020 19:33

got a hand wash on my machine so use that and for my woolies certainly would not hand hand wash

ElaineMarieBenes · 29/06/2020 19:41

Yes!

alltoomuchrightnow · 29/06/2020 19:42

yes, i throw them in the bath or shower with me, at the price I pay (have big norks so can't get from Primark or supermarkets) I'm not going to wreck them

Nanalisa60 · 29/06/2020 19:42

All go In the Washing machine, I fold in half and but cups into each other.

alltoomuchrightnow · 29/06/2020 19:43

What does an underwire do? I'm 36GG and need my scaffolding!

willitbetonight · 29/06/2020 19:52

Nope

My0My · 29/06/2020 19:56

Hand wash in my machine. It does a brilliant hand wash so yes, I do, but no effort involved.

LlamaofDrama · 29/06/2020 20:00

Yes, they're all bravissimo at about £35 a pop because I'm a silly size and nothing else fits. And they're all underwired. I say all. Three and a sports bra because every time I pluck up the will to spend that much on a new one, an older one disintegrates. Confused

MrsNoah2020 · 29/06/2020 20:00

I hand-wash normal bras (not sports bras) but only because I am a ridiculous bra size and they cost a frigging fortune.

JellyfishandShells · 29/06/2020 22:40

i throw them in the bath or shower with me
I sometimes buy (ok, every other bra) Rigby & Peller bras and one of the women there told me that i can wear them in the shower to wash. But i never asked how - what do you use for cleaner? shower gel? soap? nothing?
