Nope!

Lollypop4 · 28/06/2020 23:47

Mine are underwire and £35 each usually But, I shove them in with the towels on a short but hot cycle

MrsAvocet · 28/06/2020 23:48

No. I put everything in on the 40c mixed wash with a 2 in 1 tablet except cycling stuff that goes on a 30c delicates programme with a sports detergent and no conditioner. If I have a lot of washing to do, I do separate out whites but generally I chuck everything in together- life's too short. ( I have a lot of grey or slightly pink underwear mind you...Blush)

Never. I do put them in a mesh bag, they last for years. I don't handwash anything.

TinkerPony · 29/06/2020 00:05

Yes and no. Good bras wired or good support or sport bra hand-wash same time when I shower and even use my baby bath water to wash them in dunk in wet, soap up and rinse in shower or sink. Normal unimportant unwired bras stick in washing machine normal wash with similar colours

vixxo · 29/06/2020 00:12

No, machine wash only. My time is more valuable than my bras imo.

QueenCT · 29/06/2020 00:20

I honestly don't get why people say about time. Like I said I use the soak wash so no rinsing but even without it takes what, 2-3 minutes then hang to dry Confused

NC4Now · 29/06/2020 00:27

Mine go in the dryer too. I’m going to hell, aren’t I?

caringcarer · 29/06/2020 00:39

No I machine wash mine. White ones with whites, black ones with blacks and nude ones with colours at 40 degree wash.

Astella22 · 29/06/2020 00:59

Grin only my good one

ComeBy · 29/06/2020 01:04

Delicate quick cool wash.

squeekums · 29/06/2020 01:05

so why does the label say that if machinewashing seems ok?

To cover their ass
Under testing it probably showed that wires pop out or shape is lost in a machine wash to some degree but hand washing not so much.

So when we as a wearer just pop it in the machine after say first use and wire pops out, we didnt follow instructions for care, therefore its not the quality of bra in question, its our washing of it. Their way of trying to worm out of fixing issues people may have with quality

Dicotyledon · 29/06/2020 02:17

Is it not so that, if you put them in the machine and they get damaged, it is your fault and nothing to do with the manufacturers.

TimeWastingButFun · 29/06/2020 02:30

Never hand washed a bra, just chuck them in on a gentle wash in a mesh bag.

StarlightLady · 29/06/2020 02:56

30 or 40 degree machine wash with other colours (I don’t do white or beige), in a lingerie bag. Programme selection depends on the rest of the load.

I’m sure they would last longer with hand washing but...

RobinHumphries · 29/06/2020 07:39

I’m the same as QueenCT, soak in soak for 15 minutes then drip dry.

Baaaahhhhh · 29/06/2020 12:21

always think hand washing doesn’t get anything quite as clean

Actually it gets them cleaner, as you are rubbing and scrubbing the soap in all the dirty places, round the wire, and under the arms. Washing machines just slosh around, a lot, which is what damages the bras.

It's like washing your hands. If you rub and scrub they are much cleaner than if you just swished them around in warm water.

AriettyHomily · 29/06/2020 12:23

Nope, no mesh bag either. I do do them up though to stop the hooks getting caught on things.

CottonSock · 29/06/2020 12:26

Wash with everything else but never tumble dry

RopsandCobbers · 29/06/2020 12:28

Primark Bras go in the machin. Anything over £30 I hand wash

Gingernaut · 29/06/2020 12:32

Spray armpits with SHOUT, tie them up into a pillowcase and put them on a regular 30 degree wash.

Something really expensive, I'd handwash.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 29/06/2020 12:34

Nope and don't but them in a mesh bag either.

bluefoxmug · 29/06/2020 12:34

Washing machines just slosh around, a lot

nah, not just sloshing around. the fabrics in the washing machine also rub against each other.

DustyMaiden · 29/06/2020 12:36

Mesh bag in machine.

anothermansmother · 29/06/2020 12:37

Nope, but I do close the fastenings and for my really fancy ones I put them in a mesh bag (as they cost a small fortune!)
