Everyone watching?

Oh my God what a fantastic set.

David, the world tipped on its axis when you left us!

This is the first thing I’ve enjoyed since lockdown began. I miss live music so much.

Hate to say it Titsywoo, but.... Grin

MinesaPinot · 28/06/2020 23:11

Just wonderful. Hoping it's on iPlayer so we can watch the whole lot as we missed the first bit.

Bettysprocker · 28/06/2020 23:12

Absolute Beginners was the first dance at our wedding over a quarter of a century ago. Sat watching with DH reminiscing.

He's been amazing!

Titsywoo · 28/06/2020 23:13

I was grumpy as the "love of my life" (he wasn't really) had just left the country to go travelling, my car had broken down a mile before we arrived at Glastonbury and I was sharing a 2 man tent with 4 people Grin. So I was probably sulking somewhere! Youth is wasted on the young!

littlbrowndog · 28/06/2020 23:14

Just great music stripped back stage

Excellent loving it

morethanafortnight · 28/06/2020 23:14

That bass player is terrific, who is she?

Meandyouandyouandme · 28/06/2020 23:15

Yes it’s going to be on iPlayer for a month Smile

Viragoesque · 28/06/2020 23:16

She is, isnt she, @morethanafortnight?

JayAlfredPrufrock · 28/06/2020 23:16

Isn’t she bloody fabulous

littlbrowndog · 28/06/2020 23:17

I think he’s giving a shout out to band now

mrwalkensir · 28/06/2020 23:17

I'm assuming its Gail Ann Dorsey on bass (watching something else at the moment). Remember somebody similarly complaining that Waterboys audience weren't engaged. We were mesmerised....

JayAlfredPrufrock · 28/06/2020 23:18

Ooh. Just lit up

emilybrontescorsett · 28/06/2020 23:19

Saw him in the 80s.
He was a true artist when people were allowed to experiment and the arts weren't stifled like they are now.
So glad I got to see him.

colouringindoors · 28/06/2020 23:19

worcestersauce29 · 28/06/2020 23:19

Viragoesque · 28/06/2020 23:20

That’s her @mrwalkensir — just looked her up.

Jellykat · 28/06/2020 23:21

Grin Titsywoo... mind you i'm just as bad, just about saw Bowie at Milton Keynes bowl, but was having a really bad Speed come down, so spent most of the time sitting on the floor looking at a sea of peoples legs!.. I'm an idiot too!

OrlandoInTheWilderness · 28/06/2020 23:22

Gail Ann Dorsey on bass. Incredible player and singer in her own right too.
Bloody amazing show!

BreathlessCommotion · 28/06/2020 23:25

I was there too. 19 years old! Been reminiscing tonight. Might have to dig my old photos out of the loft.

LetGoOfTheLittleDistractions · 28/06/2020 23:27

@RaininSummer

I need to watch this again. It was awesome. He was such a beautiful man.
Especially with his long hair! I'm not a fan of live music on TV but loving this. What a sad day when he went. Mind you I'm getting twitchy looking at all of those people so close together Sad
littlbrowndog · 28/06/2020 23:28

Oh no it’s over

worcestersauce29 · 28/06/2020 23:29

My brother in law was in the 'bowie/stewart' set back in the day whilst they were playing back rooms in pubs. He had many tales but sadly is no longer around to tell them

morethanafortnight · 28/06/2020 23:29

@littlbrowndog

Oh no it’s over

colouringindoors · 28/06/2020 23:30
