I have just bought a Bissell crosswave, and it is amazing. I feel so organised with lovely clean floors.

What have you bought that has made a real difference to your life?

Shamelessly materialistic

My gorgeous Westie... He pays dividends every single day

thebear1 · 28/06/2020 19:08

Dishwasher and Lakeland heated airer are great. Also like my cordless dyson. But would still choose my rescue cat over them. My last one lived until 16 and new one is nearly 2, I hope we have him for many years.

DisobedientHamster · 28/06/2020 19:08

Phillips Lumea
Emma Bridgewater stuff, so pretty and cheerful

Milliways · 28/06/2020 19:15

Motorhome, have had so many trips and now it feels a safe way to holiday.
Also the robot hoover and a Phillips Lumea.
My cheapest is my egg poaching pan, used every day for breakfast.

I couldn't live without my beats wireless headphones. I was very lucky in that being a newly signed up OU student and therefore student discount was applicable, I got a MacBook but got the beats headphones free. They are beautifully made and I use them almost every day. Having autism too I like to just wear them switched on and the noise cancelling tech manages to drown out my noisy family when I'm feeling overwhelmed! Absolute life saver.

Mimimayhem18 · 28/06/2020 19:27

A De’Longhi bean to cup- all my local coffee shops are closed and I just missed a good coffee so much. It's as noisy as hell but it makes the best coffee.

NotJustACigar · 28/06/2020 19:34

Oculus quest virtual reality headset. DH loved mine so much when I got it be immediately bought one for himself also. It's amazing for keeping fit, playing games, watching movies, etc. Best thing I ever bought and no idea why they aren't more popular (except that they are expensive).

Also love my robot vac, instant pot, and chilli bottle.

PolloDePrimavera · 28/06/2020 19:52

Except for usual, house, cars etc, definitely my beloved pooch (predates lockdown by 3 years), I totally adore her. And, I've recently paid for the slumber app as I am a crap sleeper: decidedly helps me get into a deeper sleep so even though I wake up a few times, I can function in the morning. Finally, Ingenix fans were a saviour this last week, effective and quiet.

Hoggleludo · 28/06/2020 19:57

Potato ricer! Not kidding my dc loves mashed potatoes. Daily. I hated mashing them. This is a lifesaver!

Hoggleludo · 28/06/2020 19:58

Oh. And my AirPod pros. Use them daily!

Hoggleludo · 28/06/2020 20:00

Also. Although this cost me nothing

Meditation. I love it. I love love how positive it is. How positive it makes me. How calm I am. Oh. I love it. Makes me feel euphoric!

Magic2020 · 28/06/2020 20:03

Philips Lumea
Trampoline - saved my sanity when the kids were small

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 28/06/2020 20:05

My beautiful elderly kitty. She rescued me about 4 years ago and is my companion.

A cheap rice cooker. I eat more rice now

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 28/06/2020 20:06

Seconding: Cordless vacuum (Long/Little John depending on the length of the attachment) and robot vac (Crichton - as in, The Admirable Crichton ).

Crichton mops, tbh, it's more of a decent damp dust of the floor but it keeps it clear of sticky stuff (so nobody tracks it through the house) until it's time for me to use the steam mop. If I could find a robot floor washer that could give a hearty scrub without much intervention from me then that would be even better, but, until then, Crichton's cat's lick keeps things on track.

I had a Lakeland version of the Thermomix - it's only recently malfunctioned and I miss it badly as it was so easy to make soup in it or use it as a back-up steamer.

HRH2020 · 28/06/2020 20:10

Heated airer
Subscription to sleep stories apps so DS with ASD can get to sleep
Sky Q (after being on crappy Virgin for forever)
Dog
Bedside tables 😂 don't feel like a scabby student any more

BikeRunSki · 28/06/2020 20:13

A second hand guitar for DS for £10. It gut him to G1, at which point we got him A nicer one, which he is working for G3 on. When DS first expressed interest in guitar lessons, the school music service didn’t have any and I was reluctant to buy one at that stage. Turns out that DS loves playing and gets on really well with his teacher.

Littlebyerockerboo · 28/06/2020 20:16

Steamer
Instant pot

A doughnut pillow, pillow shaped like doughnut (complete with sprinkles and pink icing) hole in the middle and a "bite" taken out for shoulder comfort - i have a conch piercing that spent two years getting infected and angry.... brought this pillow and absolutely perfect ever since. If we travel it comes with me, not just because of the piercing, its actually beyond comfortable and I now struggle without it.
It cost £20 and I thought that was quite expensive, absolute bargain considering I use it every single day/night!

Nosuchluck · 28/06/2020 20:19

I just thought of another one, my cordless vacuum cleaner.

Lordamighty · 28/06/2020 20:21

Miele tumble dryer, best appliance I have ever had.

BikeRunSki · 28/06/2020 20:22

Wool duvet

SpeedofaSloth · 28/06/2020 20:24

A £5.00 Sistema reusable bottle. It is really nice to drink from so I actually carry it and use it, and I do feel less headachey for it.

ListeningQuietly · 28/06/2020 20:37

£120
mine and DHs wedding rings
(they match but mine fits through his)

Bugslydoo · 28/06/2020 20:46

My tassimo coffee machine!
