I have just bought a Bissell crosswave, and it is amazing. I feel so organised with lovely clean floors.

What have you bought that has made a real difference to your life?

Shamelessly materialistic

I really hope all these dogs are for life not just for lockdown.

Dread to think how many will end up in shelters when this is all over and other hobbies and lifestyles can be resumed :( so many people on my FB bought puppies even using the hashtag #lockdownpuppy.

Iamamadeupname · 28/06/2020 18:00

Trampoline with net - no other garden toys needed
Wooden tongs to get the toast out of the toaster

hiredandsqueak · 28/06/2020 18:00

@straycatsrut our dog is coming up to 11 and wasn't a lockdown acquisition she is definitely here for life.

SauvignonBlanketyBlank · 28/06/2020 18:01

Expensive niche perfume.Far superior to designer and lasts longer too.

AnnaNimmity · 28/06/2020 18:02

haha yes packing cubes! Brilliant things!

Nothing really, but I love my new bed and mattress - for the first time ever I spent a lot on a mattress and it's the best thing. I love my bed.

and yes my dogs. Resisted the nagging from my dcs for years, and finally succumbed (18 months ago PP) and just adore them.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/06/2020 18:08

Our cat (we’ve had her three years, she’s not a lockdown cat)
Silicon pods for poaching eggs in
Hairdressing scissors were my best lockdown buy - I have a short blunt fringe.

PegasusReturns · 28/06/2020 18:09

Robo mop - I don’t mind running the handheld around but mopping always feels such a big chore.

Ugg slippers
Double dishwasher
Audible subscription

whereorwhere · 28/06/2020 18:10

Will a robot vac fall downstairs and what's a robin op?

Lobsterquadrille2 · 28/06/2020 18:18

A kitten who is now a 15 year old cat.

mothtoaflame · 28/06/2020 18:19

A peloton bike.

40somethingJBJ · 28/06/2020 18:19

My lightweight, folding mobility scooter. It’s amazing and means I can walk the dog and go on days out again. Cost more than my car is worth, but totally worth it.

An air fryer. I put off getting one for ages, as I didn’t know if I’d use it much, but then there was one on QVC so I could send it back if I didn’t get on with it, but it’s brilliant and I use it all the time.

Ceiling fans. I run hot most of the year and they make it bearable!

My little caravan. 31 years old and tiny, but I loves it.

hiredandsqueak · 28/06/2020 18:25

@whereowhere no my Neato botvac has drop sensors but there is also a magnetic strip you can use to block off areas so could use that if you wanted to be doubly sure.

sitckmansladylove · 28/06/2020 18:25

Cordless Hoover. I love it - it doesn't work as long as I would like but I work room by room

Ikea drawer dividers

Label maker

Pepperwand · 28/06/2020 18:28

Hive heating

Instant pot..... especially because it cooks meat from frozen so it's no bother if I have forgotten to take anything out the freezer the night before.

National trust lifetime membership.....it was an expensive initial outlay but years of family days out and exploring new places.

Wine aerator....just fits on top of a bottle of red wine and adds loads of air to it as you pour, have done a blind taste test with and without and definitely makes a difference.

Impatientwino · 28/06/2020 18:28

Air con in our upstairs - we had it done in winter so they knocked off a lot of money as they are so quiet then. Perfectly cool bedrooms and home office!

A pot for keeping half avocados in - I eat a lot of them and I still love popping it in it's special pot with a recess for the stone!

Ikea Kallax system for toys

A wooden bath tray for holding iPad/book/wine/flannel/face scrub etc. Use it all the time!

Pepperwand · 28/06/2020 18:32

Oh and Spotify subscription....been discovering loads of podcasts and doing some guided meditations during lockdown, I definitely feel that it's had a positive impact upon my life.

strandedatthedrivein · 28/06/2020 18:38

Plug in egg boiler.... I must admit I raised an eyebrow when DH bought it home from lidl but it's amazing! Perfect for having eggs ready for egg mayo sandwiches, salads etc.

FrugiFan · 28/06/2020 18:39

For those with robot vacuums, do they have a maximum size of item they'll suck up? My daughter likes playmobil and I'd be worried about all the little bits accidentally getting eaten. When I hover myself I can spot a tiny plastic flower that hadnt been tidied and move it.

justgoingforanap · 28/06/2020 18:44

Eufy for me as well. Still deciding on a name. Maybe Rupert. Only had him for a couple of days and love him. Like a little pet.

You have to empty the drawer so I think you could see if there was a bit of Lego in there, if it was even picked up. But if you are worried you could follow him around like I do, feeling smug that he's vacuuming and I'm not.

Mayvis · 28/06/2020 18:46

Lakeland heated airer.

justgoingforanap · 28/06/2020 18:46

Sorry you said Playmobil not Lego - I don't have any to test but I'm sure someone will as there are so many that have one.

teddyclown · 28/06/2020 18:55

I am guessing all of you with robot vacuum cleaners have read this hilarious story?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/06/2020 19:00

i-phone - resisted for years but got a second hand one and am completely smitten.

Chillis bottles - it sounds ridiculous to say they are life changing, but they've certainly made my working day nicer!

And now I'm going to read the thread and see what I might want! Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/06/2020 19:04

Oh and Le Creuset baking trays - absolutely brilliant; so easy to wash and nothing ever seems to stick on them. Well worth the money.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 28/06/2020 19:07

S'well bottles
Le Creuset cast iron pan
Really nice stoneware over dishes

All my cooking comes out so much better now I've replaced all my ropey cookware.
