My thighs hurt after another corporate day in a dress. I think bloomers might be the answer.

After another sweaty day where my thighs have just and so caught each other every time I've moved to 'make a cup of coffee' stand in front of the open fridge in the office kitchen wafting my dress and my knicker elastic is rubbing on my 3day post bikini line trim stubble I feel that there must be a better way.

I'm seriously considering some kind of nice airy bloomers, I'm trying to work out how they could be slimline enough to still be flattering under a dress.

I've tried cycling shorts, cut down leggings etc but surely the whole point of wearing a dress is to avoid the whole sweaty crotch on a hot day issue you get with trousers/leggings.

I've also tried the glidey balm stuff but it makes me feel a bit, icky.

Is it time for a lightweight, non bulky. slimline cotton bloomer revolution? How do we make this happen? I'm thinking like men's boxers but nicer.

Place marking!

Asda liquid talc. Only thing that's ever worked for me.

Turnip I was about to suggest silk thermals. Silk jersey is cool in summer, and really breathable. Patra is one of many brands, but that's the sort of thing. I wear silk camisoles in summer (thermasilk) and they feel barely there.

Snag tights' shorts I tell you! Snag tights' shorts.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 27/06/2020 16:22

another one here who loves Snag shorts. You won’t regret your purchase I promise.

I dont get chub rub, but react to elastic and lace, so Ive been wearing boy leg shorts but they also tend to be low rise so ping below my belly. The crutch then dangles somewhere below where it should

Cotton bloomers would be ideal. Men's cotton shorts have a seam in the middle which I wouldn't want in the foof area

@Growingboys and @averysuitablegirl

I don’t usually wear any on warm summer days, with summer skirts and dresses, l prefer an air conditioned under carriage, including work days. I don’t show colleagues at work my knix, so l don’t show anything when l’m commando either.

That depends on how short/tight your skirts/dresses are. I've had plenty of glimpses of people's knix when they are sitting down and I bet they don't realise it. Grin

StarlightLady · 28/06/2020 03:54

@eaglejulesk - No, I don’t wear short skirts.

eaglejulesk · 28/06/2020 06:00

You'll be okay then OP. I don't think some people realise how much is on show when they sit in a short tight skirt.

eaglejulesk · 28/06/2020 06:01

Sorry, I meant @StarlightLady, not OP !!!!

Have you ever tried going commando? In theory your pubic hair should catch everything (not counting when you’re on your period of course). I regularly go pantless in hot weather and have never had any issues (only with dresses long enough to protect me from potentially touching surfaces/flashing of course.

StarlightLady · 28/06/2020 09:38

I don’t wear jeans/trousers in hot weather, save perhaps white trousers on a summer’s evening. Commando is second nature to me most of the time in the warm weather. My sister does the same as did my mum (now deceased).
