I have put the lottery on tonight, and when I win.. I'm buying this!

What do you think?

Woodbrook Road, Alderley Edge, Cheshire

I think it is hideous

CheshireChav · 23/06/2020 22:24

@Eminybob how fab is that new 'Kings' complex, it has four swimming pools apparently!

littlebillie · 23/06/2020 22:26

It is okay, not to my taste

HotSince82 · 23/06/2020 22:28

I quite like it, but I think I'd want a grand period property for 5 million.

YoBigMomma · 23/06/2020 22:36

@CheshireChav I've never once been to the clink! We keep saying we should go and then never get further than the ship!

Love how this house has massively divided opinions.. most of the big houses around here are new builds and are bloody awful, where as this one has a lovely cosy feel rather than a minimalistic feel.

@AnnieMaul

Just the £5 million then? I'll have half a dozen Wink

Love how it looks on the outside, especially the balcony. Great potential but decor not to my taste.

agreed
Cassns1 · 23/06/2020 22:38

love it. fingers crossed for you :-) Also the one in Devon is fab.

Quackersandcheese3 · 23/06/2020 22:40

I like it , feel very inspired after looking at it .

GrumpyHoonMain · 23/06/2020 22:40

Its a gut job though.

GlamGiraffe · 23/06/2020 22:41

I'd need sunglasses to go in there. The decor is dazzlingly blinding. No, just horrible.
The outside is quite nice though.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 23/06/2020 22:41

I couldn't see the house for the wallpaper. Love the pool though.

BurtonHouse · 23/06/2020 22:43

Bloody hell. Looks like something from Footballers' Wives. Gross.

houseforanartlover · 23/06/2020 22:46

Really hard to tell if this is a period house which has been so renovated and added to that it's virtually unrecognisable, or a new build trying to look period. Either way it's not very nice.

YourWinter · 23/06/2020 22:55

Not for me at any price!
I don't like small-paned windows, horrid to clean, horrid to paint, block out the light.
I don't like patterned walls anywhere, ever, but the wallpaper takes 'ugh' to a whole new level. Guess that could be changed though. They like blue, don't they? Blue sofa, anyone...? No thanks. Maybe sofas aren't included.
And I don't like all the stones outside. Drives with gravel or stones get too many weeds, they're noisy, get stuck in the tyres, nasty for dogs' paws, awful for children (or anyone) who might fall and skin their knees.

DamnYankee · 23/06/2020 23:05

It's got good bones, but the wallpaper (So busy!! I can't imagine seeing that daily!), stag antlers and blue and red couches need to go!

riotlady · 23/06/2020 23:08

Who needs that many sofas???

IDidntChoseThePondLife · 23/06/2020 23:12

I love the Morris Traveller! Far too big for me. Would love the garden and the pool though.

TokyoSushi · 23/06/2020 23:12

Oh I love it! DH would hate the decor, but if it was just me, I'd keep it exactly as it is - maybe without the antlers!

Honeyroar · 23/06/2020 23:12

It’s much nicer than most Alderly Edge mansions in that it’s not too OTT, but it’s still not for me. I’d want a much bigger pool and about 100 acres surrounding it, and I don’t think it’s worth even half that price.

lymphopenia · 23/06/2020 23:12

I find it really quite intriguing actually. It's beautiful but...the patterns are overdone and sometimes garish but really, I think I love it. The pool/jacuzzi thing is a bit of a let down but actually I really like the character and individuality of it all. I wonder if in reality it's a bit higgeldypiggeldy? Nevertheless, I'd very drawn to it all!

Has anyone seen Knives Out? Reminds me of that house a bit with modern dark interiors.

Intriguing find though, thanks OP! Now off to show my mother who 100% will find the entire thing hideous Grin

Skyliner001 · 23/06/2020 23:18

WAG paradise. Hideous.

IDidntChoseThePondLife · 23/06/2020 23:18

@Gertie75 I’ll have your house for the walled garden but would probably just live in the coach house.

Mrsmadevans · 23/06/2020 23:19

I don't really like it tbh it reminds me of a hotel . One mans meat and all that Smile

Defenestratethecat · 23/06/2020 23:22

I'd buy it except couldn't afford to redecorate! Don't understand why people buy huge houses when they don't know what to do with the space.

yoyoyooo · 23/06/2020 23:25

It's like Instagram has thrown up on it 😬
