Here's a new thread for discussing aircon, aubergines, and Goth music.

Yeah, I can’t work out the tattooist thing either. The cynic in me wonders if it’s because there are lots of hairdressers (so lots of people currently unable to work) but relatively few tattooists - therefore it makes it sound more of a gradual easing to say this group (of thousands) can go back to work but this other group (of hundreds) can’t. There could be a proper scientific reason though.

Willow2017 · 23/06/2020 19:19

it doesn't make much sense, but I'm guessing it's mostly that hairdressers stand mostly behind you when cutting, rather than facing, except for the fringe
Unless you are getting one on your bum!🤣

I am a very happy bunny tonight. My closest relative is shielding due to age and I know thier adult child is very protective and cautious which i totally understand. I didnt want to do anything to stress them. I ventured last night on phone if they would be up for a visit if we sat in garden, obviously, brought our own food and drink etc. She was fine but was gonna run it past said 'child' as she wasn't sure about their reaction. Well called tonight and they said it was fine and in typical form she has lunch and home made cake and scones waiting! Fingers crossed for good weather it's an hour away and I want cake!! 😄😄😄
Not much difference between
Scottish and Irish 'mothers' 😉

Well ours is 100 people in total, with a registrar. So I'm glad it's still 6 months away and can only hope things will be much better then.

Teateaandmoretea · 23/06/2020 19:20

It’s all about cronyism and lobbying. So Boris and his cronies don’t have tatts so they can stay shut. They are too small to be an effective lobby.

Teateaandmoretea · 23/06/2020 19:21

I’m actually angrier today than I have been through the whole lockdown. The more I think about what has been announced the more utter bollocks it seems

BakewellTarts · 23/06/2020 19:22

I think starting weddings up is good particularly if there is a pressing reason to get married like emigration or illness. I wouldn't want a socially distant wedding though. DHs cousin is meant to be getting married in August still not sure if it will go ahead. It was rearranged from May too.

BarkandCheese · 23/06/2020 19:32

Tattooists is a bit odd, unless you’re getting a face tatt (which is pretty ill advised TBH) they’re not close to your face.

chocolatesweets · 23/06/2020 19:39

@teateaandmoretea I was like that

BakewellTarts · 23/06/2020 19:42

Everyone here calls it the Daily Sadly Death Show too. Where will we be without it? Answer probably a lot happier, and anyway I prefer Pointless.

torydeathdrug · 23/06/2020 19:45

I think as issue with Tattooists is how long they are close to the client - much longer than a hairdresser usually.

KaronAVyrus · 23/06/2020 19:45

I wonder when Sturgeon will stop her Sadly Death Show? Sometime in 2030?

Drivingdownthe101 · 23/06/2020 19:49

When people stop dying. Or anything.
Drivingdownthe101 · 23/06/2020 19:49

*OF anything

Drivingdownthe101 · 23/06/2020 19:50

I think it will become the ‘sadly daily all deaths’ show. She’ll read out the cause of death of anyone who has died that day in Scotland. And that will be further evidence that they should be independent! Grin

Willitneverend · 23/06/2020 19:53

@Drivingdownthe101 7th May 2021 at the latest.

I think they know its coming to an end now. I think the schools backlash has scared them.

BakewellTarts · 23/06/2020 19:56

I really hope that the schools backlash has woken up all politicians. Our children deserve to get an education. I see the unions are kicking off again and trying to put a spanner in the works.

CarrotPuff · 23/06/2020 20:05

Maybe Boris has finally realised that he does need a haircut... I doubt it though.

BakewellTarts · 23/06/2020 20:06

Boris's hair looks worse than mine and thats saying something!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 23/06/2020 20:11

Watched the daily sadly death show earlier and when Bojo said about holidays in the UK DS misheard (tbf he was mid youtube) and thought he said we can go on holiday (supposed to be going to Greece in 7 weeks). He was so disappointed when we explained holidays here....I just keep hoping and praying we can go.

He was EXTREMELY happy about parks though, I almost cried!

Congrats @trappedsincesundaymorn

Drivingdownthe101 · 23/06/2020 20:11

My hair looks absolutely no different bar being a couple of cm’s longer Grin. Not sure if that’s a good thing (I’m low maintenance) or bad (I’m an unpolished slob)!

countrygirl99 · 23/06/2020 20:12

PickaChew "luckily" for my DS his ILs to be are stuck in another country. Otherwise I guess it would be the mums from each side.

Dowser · 23/06/2020 20:13

Thank you cupcakes. ...re the hair

Are you following me around pickachew..we were in seaham on Sunday night

Maybe it'll be back for a second season when the much anticipated Second Wave breaks out Hmm
Dowser · 23/06/2020 20:18

What has happened re parents in schools and education?
