I thought I had lost you!!!

Ibake · 20/06/2020 17:04

@livinlavidaloki maybe if she sends her kids back they'll at least know the difference between their and there is surely the only comment you need to make!!

Spudlet · 20/06/2020 17:16

@ExpletiveDelighted I’ve hidden the whole AIBU topic. I still see them on trending if I’m on the desktop version and I can still get to them if someone posts a link, but they don’t show up on my active threads at all. It’s one of the things I did to make this place more workable for me at the start of lockdown - I hid AIBU, the Coronavirus topic and FWR.

It’s improved my forum experience massively. I recommend it!

There seems to be a lot of bullying and nastiness around today

Jourdain11 · 20/06/2020 17:19

Hello all! Just checking back in. I'm back home. DH and the kids have been to Westfield (we are cursed by living 5 mins walk from Westfield... it is WAY TOO EASY to get to) and have bought impractical clothes and shoes of a type which I wouldn't allow. Apparently there were quite a lot of kids there so I'm not willing for anyone to flame me for the irresponsibility of letting DH take my super spreading, germ ridden children to shops.

I'm feeling a bit better and it was nice that the DC were very happy that I was back, even though I make them eat vegetables and tidy up (which daddy does not).

Littlebelina · 20/06/2020 17:27

Glad to hear you are home Jourdain, there were loads of kids in the town centre near us today. Think most sensible people realise kids need to do something that isn't a walk.

AIBU is worse than the covid topic at the moment. It's always nasty but especially so today

HesterShaw1 · 20/06/2020 17:30

Glad you're home Jourdain.

I just watched a BBC piece on what went wrong in Lombardy. Does anyone know why this region was so overwhelmed so quickly and so comparatively soon? Lombardy in particular?

Jourdain11 · 20/06/2020 17:30

What's this awful thread in AIBU? I think I'm going to socially distance myself from dementoring - don't want to deal with it, basically! But if I click I will get sucked in Wink

And yeah, children really need to do something apart from "go for a walk". "Go for a walk" here is basically go to a park or trails up and down the streets, which is nice and everything, but not that thrilling after a while.

Amen to that Spudlet

BakewellTarts · 20/06/2020 17:33

@Jourdain11 yeah glad you are home.

I guess the impractical stuff can be returned?!

I loathe banana's so the idea of banana curry is just Envy

I think it's been picking up for a couple of days. It seems as if it's increasing in proportion to Covid cases and deaths decreasing. I get the impression the venomous, misery-riddled, joy-sucking hags (apparently, dementor is offensive Grin) can see a change coming and don't like it.
Drivingdownthe101 · 20/06/2020 17:41

As dementor is so offensive, maybe we should switch to ‘venomous, misery-riddled, joy sucking hag’? It rolls off the tongue.

Dowser · 20/06/2020 17:41

Jourdain ask for some self or intermittent catheters.
Literally let your bladder fill up then when you feel the urge just pop a cath to empty

HesterShaw1 · 20/06/2020 17:43

oh thetes an excellent thread running about whether or not you are still social distancing. A lot of people are protecting elderly relatives and shielding people, which is entirely understandable of course. But there are lots of uses of the words and phrases "rules", "safe" and "why take the risk" creeping in.

BakewellTarts · 20/06/2020 17:44

The thing is Dementor doesn't imply a sex wheras Hag does. I realise most Dementors on Mumsnet are women but Dementors in my real life are split at least 50:50. We really need a more neutral term.

Dowser · 20/06/2020 17:46

Orange blossom
Meantime the Tines saying from July pubs are opening. Cafés, gyms and spas can also open from July 4 and 2m rule being dropped (to 1 I think)

No 2 metre rule going on in york
That’s it. We will be given it like a huge present when we’ve already had it anyway

How about fuckers "wailers"?

As an aside, @BakewellTart every time I see your username I want to eat a slice. Or a cherry Bakewell, either would do.

BakewellTarts · 20/06/2020 17:48

They are rather a nice sweet treat Wink.

Ghostlyglow · 20/06/2020 17:48

Just been on the social distancing threadHmm nice to be back here.

NannyPhlegm · 20/06/2020 17:49

I have had a lovely day meeting up with DD1's friend's family in their garden. Halfway through their older girl had a thought that she could pass down clothes she'd grown out of fashion-wise and brought a pile into the garden for my DD to choose from. The joy and laughing as she and her friend went through the clothes was heart warming. I feel so much lighter than I have for months

They mentioned this to me at the hospital, but I have to go back next week to have some kind of special bladder function test Confused and for someone to show me how to do it Blush I am majorly not looking forward to this! But it will be better. At the moment I have an indwelling one and I don't like it, it feels really odd. (And it makes me feel like I'm "not normal"). I'm crossing fingers madly in the hope that his will be a short-lived issue!!

Moan, moan, moan. Sorry - that's me done now! Wink

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 20/06/2020 17:50

God I'd love a Bakewell tart right now. Wonder if I can get anything close in Aldi later when I go late night murdering?

Fuckwit?

I'd put money on them being women. That level of bitchiness is something men can only aspire to.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 20/06/2020 17:57

For the love of the Elves that corona good news thread. Honestly some people, if they won the lottery they'd whine about it being £3million and not 6.
