I'm so angry about it all today.

TuckMyWin · 18/06/2020 16:28

Love that the headline refers to hairdressers, and you only find out about schools as a by the by 🙄

fartingsparkles · 18/06/2020 16:28

I remember visiting Paris and walking up to the top of the ADT, and watching the traffic go round - so many near misses!!

Absolutely peeing down all day here. It's doing the garden good I guess! I am quietly proud of myself for having got a bit of a handle on the garden when we've not been able to do much else. I have never 'enjoyed' the garden, but am happier with it now it's less scruffy looking. Speaking of which, I have shoved a bit of temporary colour on my roots again to stop me being scruffy looking.

HesterShaw1 · 18/06/2020 16:29

It's a bit bloody weak. 1m for children "in an education setting". All other areas, and for adults, it remains.

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:30

Actually it is understandable the children are less at risk so it does make sense I think. I just hope it means the children can go back to school

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:31

but yes obviously would be nice if the rest could change too Smile

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 18/06/2020 16:32

Fuck me I’ve done it again. I’ve just been reading the school petition thread and the schools can’t return to normal with social distancing thread.
It has made me feel so angry and tearful! Why do I read it?! Why do I do it to myself?! Some of those posters really are demented!!

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 18/06/2020 16:32

sockyarn I’ve got friends on outer isles spending £350/week on groceries at the local shop because they’re not allowed to use the inter-island ferries in to town for the supermarket.

SeagoingSexpot · 18/06/2020 16:34

Hello murderous types.

Am having a slightly annoyed day as the rain has spoiled all my plans for enjoying the shops and my summer reduced hours. But good news about NI schools, and I strongly suspect England at least will follow. Am feeling for Wales and Scotland ATM.

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:35

I know reading the threads is not a good idea, I need to stop too. At the start of this used to read this one about how they were all worried about coronavirus and that was like a thread of doom, all opinions dressed as facts, combined with severe dementing, it seems to have gone now but it used to really stress me out.

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:36

Shock at islands costs, that is awful poor people.

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:37

What strikes me about Nicola is she doesn't seem to know much about how some of the Scots live / day to day lives. It is like she lives somewhere else Confused

She also doesn’t seem to realise that Scotland has other issues which could do with her attention (like poverty, unemployment, drug use etc) and that 2 deaths a day from Covid needs to be put into bloody perspective. Same goes for the rest of the UK actually!

She does.

Up her own hole.

Current maturity level = 15

KaronAVyrus · 18/06/2020 16:41

It’s because she is now extremely wealthy - her and her husband are on 6 figure sums. They’ve forgotten how us mere plebs live.

I grew up there and lived on Arran for a while as a child. I know what it is like when the ferry stops due to storms! Smile

and moved to a very 'local' fishing town for secondary, and also studied there, the way she goes on just seems so out of touch with the place I grew up in.

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:45

Do you remember when she gave everyone those Scandi style 'baby boxes?

I just imagine locals being like 'whit the feck whit I dae we that?"

CarrotPuff · 18/06/2020 16:45

I too had a look at the schools petition thread. Closed within reading a few first posts. Not worth my brain space.

Good news about NI. They allow weddings up to 10 people too. Some undementored common sense is still there.

I've gone on a murderous spree to Tesco for a very essential shopping trip for Kit Kat's. One of my virus infested superspreaders needed some bigger pyjamas as well.

I don't know if the store manager is an anti dementor, or if they just cba anymore, but there was no queue, no one at the door. It felt so normal! A few people in masks squeezing themselves into the shelves whenever someone walked past, but other than stopping at floor markings at the tills, there was no distancing, everyone just went on about their business. It was glorious, even though I didn't get any pyjamas and the bastards didn't have any 2 finger multipacks.

PickAChew · 18/06/2020 16:45

I love a bit of duck, @Dowser

I managed to buy an actual aubergine for the first time in 3 months, today, so I shall shortly be nuking and then grilling it until it's as saggy as my belly and then turn the pulp into a curry.

We've yet to try the Indian in Shincliffe, though Ds2 and I discovered holi and bhang in nevilles Cross on one of our walks so we shall be ordering from there for our anniversary, next week, I think.

We have loads of Indian takeaways on our little high street, of varying quality. One is absolutely lovely but I fancy a change.

AnxiousElephant77 · 18/06/2020 16:46

@CarrotPuff Nothing doing at our local Tesco Express either

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:47

Or that other issues which could do with her attention (like poverty, unemployment, drug use etc could maybe be behind the covid deaths too considering the levels in some areas

Maybe she should then focus in on those areas as for special support and understanding of their issues rather than locking everyone up!

(which yes would go for parts of England and Wales too)

BlackberryViolet · 18/06/2020 16:49

@Allflightscancelled

And, my lord, they love newts and bats grin

Ah yes, I remember that! I used to work for a housing developer back in the day, and every site they ever wanted to develop allegedly either had newts or bats on them. Mind you they deserved the extra hassle they were absolute shits

Years ago when I was involved in habitat protection I was convinced that one of the regular protestors had newts in her garden pond and relocated a couple whenever they opposed a development. I have never come across so many great crested newts and ponds with the buggers in! For a supposed rare species they really got aroundGrin
NothingIsWrong · 18/06/2020 16:53

The NI thing is great - reading it says "should allow full classes to attend"

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 16:54

I must stop ranting about Scotland sorry. It's quite close to my heart.
