I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

I do miss MaryZ from the teen threads, and Pagwatch (I even remember how that's pronounced!) and Mrs Devere, plus Rhubarb and Custardo.

And controversially, I really liked LaQueen as she was entertaining.

ScrambledSmegs · 15/06/2020 11:49

Was MrsKoala the poster with 3 children, Crohn's disease and a husband who left absolutely everything to her?

LadyEloise · 15/06/2020 11:50

Why was MaryZ banned ?

MrsKoala · 15/06/2020 11:56

No. I don’t have crohns disease.

LoseLooseLucy · 15/06/2020 12:02

Aww I miss Miss Bossy Bertrand Sad

Enderthedragon · 15/06/2020 12:04

My favourite ever poster was Bupcakesandcunting aka Marmalade Twatkins. I shall forever remember 'Fuck. You. Bitch' from the cake thread!

Who was the poster that referred to her partner as 'manshape'?

I always remember Dittany from the Feminism boards and she was so scary, and I wonder where she is now and what she thinks about the whole transgender thing? The feminism boards were a lot scared back then, lots of academic theory chat. I find them more accessible these days.

Sparklingbrook · 15/06/2020 12:11

I thought the lemon drizzle and preg cousin sagas were really tedious. But everyone thought they were great.

Love Maryz she’s a sweetheart.

ScrambledSmegs · 15/06/2020 12:13

Ah sorry @MrsKoala, my memory is terrible and I often muddle up/conflate posters.

Cocolapew · 15/06/2020 12:15

I didn't raise SarahandQuack was LRD either, and that you were Bucharest Smile

Cocolapew · 15/06/2020 12:17

Oops missed a page that was to TheCanterburyWhales

Apple1029 · 15/06/2020 12:17

CogitoErgo yes loved her advice. she was always spot on and I always hoped she popped up on some threads to share wise words.

Cocolapew · 15/06/2020 12:22

Who remembers TheWiltedRose I think it was?
She was always looking for money, I remember ESD rumbling her on a thread I sat and watched it all day, I can't remember exactly what happened though.

Reedshoes · 15/06/2020 12:23

What a lovely thread

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 15/06/2020 12:23

Mitmoo 😁 I loved all the she who cannot be named threads about cows / moo etc that followed

Also sueperblybuilt who everyone read as suepurplybits who kept reminding us that her bits were not purple!

MrsKoala · 15/06/2020 12:32

That’s okay ScrambledSmeggs I’m quite glad I don’t have Crohns! I’m fine by the way. Plodding on. H and I have been separated but living together for about a year. The first 4 weeks of lockdown was interesting. But it’s better now as he’s home all the time so can’t get out of doing stuff. We are working towards a sort of co parenting house share type scenario till things are easier for me. He has moved jobs and will now be working from home 3 days per week (when things go back to normal) and will travel less. Dd starts school in a year. I’ve started a sort of business and earn £650 per month.

mrscampbellblackagain · 15/06/2020 12:35

I loved Bonsoir back in the day with her tales of Paris and her rushing off to prepare sea urchins for supper.

I did read she had a brain tumour which is very sad. Pretty sure SS was WWC.

I always had the impression that Bonsoir like Seeker didn't care about being popular on here they were just very confident in their views and owned them.

zenasfuck · 15/06/2020 12:46

I remember TheWiltedRose @Cocolapew , she lived locally to me and I was quite involved in her threads

selfishteenagers · 15/06/2020 12:48

they were just very confident in their views and owned them

I think that’s one of the main differences now that I really notice probably a combination of the above and not as much name changing you really used to know when certain posters came on a thread that it would go a certain way, or to have healthy debates, it’s just so different now and not always in a bad way but I did prefer it a few years ago/when I joined . I’d like a day just to go back in time though !

Following people’s stories too it was nice to feel involved in a way everyone is very anonymous now

Cocolapew · 15/06/2020 12:50

Was it her who used to post threads that prompted people to offer her stuff @zenasfuck?
I think the one I'm thinking of was she was offered, say second clothes, but wanted cash 🤔. It was so long ago I can't remember.

SarahAndQuack · 15/06/2020 12:51

YY, @selfishteenagers, I'd love a day to go back in time.

I don't miss some things, obviously, but I really miss when you'd click on a thread and see two or three names and know you could make yourself a big cup of tea and sit back because you'd all end up chatting about random facts in history or favourite books or cultural differences or whatever, and it'd be lovely.

There was a really nice thread a few days ago, about how mothers coped in the past, and it reminded me of those long threads.

ajandjjmum · 15/06/2020 12:52

@ssd

I still think of Biscuitsandbandages and the little crumbsSad
Me too. Can't bring myself to delete the final thread which is still on 'Threads I'm watching'.
TheCanterburyWhales · 15/06/2020 12:52

I agree re Bonsoir, though I think there was a bit too much of a parody of smart, thin, navy clad Parisian lady for it to be completely a true impression.
She was very helpful to me about French high school exams.

Yumsnet · 15/06/2020 12:53

Was the NYE shut down when someone posted they saw Liz Jones (allegedly) doing drugs in a club & they had photographic evidence? Actually it might have been a Christmas time instead, but it all kicked off.

Also trying to remember who had the thread about the bathroom light...

selfishteenagers · 15/06/2020 13:04

Yes biscuitsandbandages ☹️ I often think of her too
