Old posters you sometimes think of

1000 replies

selfishteenagers · 13/06/2020 22:00

I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

OP posts:

LeQs posts about her children were cringeworthy. Especially as she had an obvious favourite. I really hope neither they nor the DH read what she has posted about them over the years!

So nice to see you back ! I sometimes think of your house, wasn’t there something about sound that possibly explained it ?

ShinyFootball · 14/06/2020 19:25

Dittany

YgritteSnow · 14/06/2020 19:26

No that won't happen. She had all her posts deleted after sharing with us all there her DH had cheated on his finals at uni and got a horrified reaction rather than admiration for his maverick ways.

CokeEnStock · 14/06/2020 19:27

And the DH sounded like he had a drinking problem, and LeQ had anger management issues. Probably the 2 are connected. I always felt sorry for her kids. Charmed life my arse.

MaosChaos · 14/06/2020 19:31

@TattiePants
If she had sons and her marriage fell apart it could be the same. Awful accident She told her story with such honesty of being scared at the journey ahead for them all. I just had nothing but respect for her. Hope her family are doing brilliantly.

I haven't seen KatyMac around in a while, she often posted about her daughter who was training to be a professional dancer.

Tenementfunster · 14/06/2020 19:55

Oh god, bonsoir.

Eve · 14/06/2020 19:57

Been here since DS was a baby, he’s now 21 but rarely post and never been ‘in’

Who was the very lovely midwife that used to give lots of advice?

AngelaScandal · 14/06/2020 19:59

AtYourCervix

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/06/2020 20:02

KatyMac unfortunately lost her Mum recently, I saw her post about it.
I hope she has plenty of support.

Yumsnet · 14/06/2020 20:03

Thoroughly enjoying this thread, I’ve been lurking since 2007 so remember quite a few of these posters. I was more of a lurker than a poster though.

I joined when GetOrf, Fellatio, FabbyChic, LaQueen were on the boards alot. I can see LaQueen’s wedding dress in my mind, it was on her profile for ages.

Was TSC a journalist - she had lots of juicy stories about celebs she’d met.

Was Vicar a midwife/a nurse?

Who had the Wolef jumpers?

Random memories, probably all wrong Grin

I remember TLES, The Lady Even Star who wound others up. She was mad, had a long running argument with many posters about how she given away dogs repeatedly (?).

Also SlartyBartFast, Alpaca Picnic (she was horsey I think) and Mignonette who was a nurse & had a thread about what happens to someone after they die - very thought provoking, educational & sensitive.

Dominicgoings · 14/06/2020 20:07

Atyourcervix -best username ever!

Rockybooboo · 14/06/2020 20:07

I liked Usual Suspects but I've not seen her for a while.

dementedma · 14/06/2020 20:10

I still miss CatThiefKeith

TheHarryFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 14/06/2020 20:10

Whatwouldlesleyknopedo, TwitterQueen, purpleunicorns and plannedshock. RIP, I think of them and their families often.

I often wonder what became of pavlovthecat

SunshineCake · 14/06/2020 20:11

@Bloodybridget

Lots of you must remember Cupofteaplease, whose baby was born with severe disabilities and died aged about a year, I think. It was terribly sad, and she and her DH split up afterwards.
I think the had another baby and did get back together.

Beatrice died aged one year, one month, one week and one day iirc Flowers.

I think I have been mentioned twice on this thread, but they can't remember my name, and both things are not strictly true. Written in a much meaner way than reality Hmm.

Somehow I remember from threads of long long ago that you are the longest serving member of Mumsnet. Don't you have a registration number that is below 50 or something?

Excuse me if I've got you muddled up with someone else.

Sparklingbrook · 14/06/2020 20:12

@NoseHair

I'm not sure why you think they did Confused
Do you not think posters communicate away from MN?
SunshineCake · 14/06/2020 20:15

@GoodbyeToCare

I'm hopeless at remembering names but recognise all of these!

Who was the poster who had a live brith thread some years ago but ended up being 4 live birth threads? I think she owned a book shop.

I often think of RedStripeLassie and hope she managed to sort out her life and get away from her DH for the sake of the children.

Nickel something
NoseHair · 14/06/2020 20:16

"Do you not think posters communicate away from MN?"

Yes and I'm sure they are equally gullible outside of mumsnet too :)

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/06/2020 20:17

Exactly Sparklingbrook
I was on her FB/Insta during it all.
We've been friends for years.
