I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

Somerville's child had / has cancer, I think. I remember thinking how awful it was that one person should be dealt such a shit hand.

@slipperywhensparticus, that's the last time I saw Oddsocks too. Someone posted an update for her not long afterwards, but I never saw her again.

We'd know if Scottish Mummy was about under a name change .

That is so sad and has really upset me.

Somerville and I chatted quite a lot off here and then I just stopped hearing from her. I was really sad and disappointed tbh and still think of her a lot. I really hope it isn't true and if it is all her family are okay.

@MaosChaos I always remember the poster whose child was hurt at the BBQ on threads like this. I don’t remember her MN (I’m sure she had her posts pulled years ago) but I think she lived close to me.

Northernlurker, ESD, anyfucker, sparklingbrook, vivalabeaver, soupdragon and expat always seemed to feature on threads I read, I remember those names and also mears ; she was another mw. I still have the original Mumsnet book from when it came out I’m sure there is a few vintage in there

I agreed with Xenia on a post earlier this week. Had to go and have a lie down afterwards.

I think it drove them up the wall that she never gave a crap about any of them.

The other one I seem to remember is Shineon who has a thread where she was supposed to go on a date at the zoo.

So does mine too 😁 But there were those who doubted she even had children or was married. I suppose she could be hiring in actors to play the parts and squatting in a pretty house

TrinityRhino - hope she's OK. I recall a gang of MNetters going to help her get her house in order after she'd had a torrid time. Riven. Vicar in a Tutu. Her son had autism. I used to read her struggles juggling work and family.. Little knowing one of my lovely children would be diagnosed with the same. TDWP - tall tales. Bloody hilariously good at winding everyone up. LaQueen and her died hard defence of why Farrow & Ball was the only paint on her walls allowed. And the day she upset Irish Tourism.

The mother of the daughter who was an amazing dancer.

The one I often think about is a mum whose little girl was badly scarred for life at a family BBQ. If you are out there I hope things have been OK for you guys.

Fluffydressinggown was very kind to me when I was at a low point I will always remember her fondly.

Miss Bertrand I didn't always agree with her but she took no shit.

ESD was also very nice to me. I'm usually ignored on here so if someone is kind to me I notice 🥴.

Been here under various guises for over a decade. Have had so much support, advice and humour over the years.

I genuinely hope her kids are ok. They really did have the odds stacked against them in terms of her expectations and fantasy world. Do you reckon she’s completed erased her previous SM presence? Imagine if your teenage daughters read some of that stuff

I actually think we were incredibly naive back in the early days if parenting forums. There’s no way trolls and fantasists get anywhere near as much airtime now.
