Old posters you sometimes think of

I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

I thought about Riven the other day on the end of tether thread. It made me bloody cross that we still don’t provide enough support for parents of children with disabilities. I often wonder how she and her dd are doing. I do wonder about the other posters with kids with cp from years ago and if they are still around. My dd2 is almost 17 now. Crazy times.

Loads of familiar names
Xenia is very different these days. I came across her after a few years gap and was really confused. Thought someone was impersonating her. My posting style is probably completely different these days though!

This thread brings back loads of memories. Wow some of these old posters!

I miss @ShowOfHands she always offered measured advice. And I miss @GetOrfMyLand and I think I remember she went to Twitter instead. I often think of @Riven and @expatinscotland with fondness. @LeQueen deliberately sent herself up and played the charicature mainly for laughs, but she is real person and the pretty house, posh holidays and successful daughters are all real on her social media. She certainly seems to have lots of friends and family who seem to love her anyway. A few on here were totally obsessed with her and there were secret groups by secret invite only and off shoot sites and stuff edicated to her. I think it drove them up the wall that she never gave a crap about any of them.

I remember so many of these names, and particularly miss Bert as we were often on the same threads, generally not in agreement. She may well still be here under a different name, but I don't recognise her individual style or viewpoint on any threads.

I have for years wanted to know what became of difficultpickle who was very ill and had a son at boarding school. She was one of a small group of posters whose queries and knowledge were incredibly helpful to me when I arrived, a decade and several name changes ago, in search of advice on schools.

Xenia has been back for at least 3 years, we've been on the same thread since then.

Roller the surprise sock puppeting regular was Mamazon I recall.

Oh well chocolate I’ve only seen her back in the threads I visit since lockdown.

I wasn't faked but there is a current poster called DrinkSangriaInThePark and every time I see them I think "wtf? Why has my name reverted?" Then I realise it's not me.

The wonderful poster who fostered newborn babies born to addicted parents. Sadly, she died. What an example she was! Really, the kind of human being I'd like to have been. Selfless.

Not sure if she has been mentioned already but expatinscotland. I used to see her post all the time and actually disagreed with her a lot, but I know she had gone through so much and hope she's okay

Is EatShitDerek the one who had been knocked over by a car when she was 11 and broken her leg very badly? She had much younger siblings who were similar ages to her own DS? I used to enjoy her posts, chaotic though they were!

Yes that's her. She didn't have a great time of it at all.

TrinityRhino - hope she's OK. I recall a gang of MNetters going to help her get her house in order after she'd had a torrid time.

Vicar in a Tutu. Her son had autism. I used to read her struggles juggling work and family.. Little knowing one of my lovely children would be diagnosed with the same.
TDWP - tall tales. Bloody hilariously good at winding everyone up.
LaQueen and her died hard defence of why Farrow & Ball was the only paint on her walls allowed. And the day she upset Irish Tourism.

The mother of Wilf - loved a Wilf catch up.
The mother of the daughter who was an amazing dancer.

The one I often think about is a mum whose little girl was badly scarred for life at a family BBQ. If you are out there I hope things have been OK for you guys.
