Old posters you sometimes think of

I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 14/06/2020 12:39

I occasionally see real names I recognise as being old MNers on the Wooly Hugs Facebook page so I know they are alive and (presumably!) well.

ItsInTheShed · 14/06/2020 12:41

@7ofNine

Wasn't junglist daftpunk under a different name? Didn't she get banned for repeated racism?
no dont think so

Junglist took another name for a while,but daft punk was around back then too

Layoverlife · 14/06/2020 12:42

Can't remember the op's name for the life of me but I often think of the Op who's daughter was murdered, if I remember rightly (apologies if I'm wrong) a complete stranger found her and stayed with her till the police arrived, he also attended the funeral. I sobbed reading that thread and always remember the OP and hope she's okay 😔

ScrambledSmegs · 14/06/2020 12:43

@Redhair23

Also, she was the only person to stand up for the poster who ended up causing a multiple-thread shitstorm about the phrase 'mad as a box of frogs

There were a few of us doing that on the thread but maybe their names weren’t as popular/recognisable?

You're right, she wasn't the only one. She was one of the first though. It had nothing to do with recognising names though as because those threads went so fast we all barely registered who said what, I think. I just remember pressing F5 constantly and suddenly going 'hold on, someone's on that poster's side?'.

It took bloody ages for those threads to die. I look back now and wonder if amillionyears was trolling. It seemed genuine however surely no one can be that oblivious?

ssd · 14/06/2020 12:44

@Ragwort

Remember when people had personal profiles and you could look at their real details? I always remember Pagwatch's lovely home. Or is that function still available? Confused
I can still remember the pictures of her home in the snow it was gorgeous.
ScrambledSmegs · 14/06/2020 12:46

LaQ's trying to be an influencer? That's amazing. I'm so intrigued now.

My detective skills are pure shite though so it will have to be something I always wonder about but never know for sure. Probably good for me.

Redhair23 · 14/06/2020 12:46

@ScrambledSmegs yeah I don’t know why that got my back up, sorry Grin.

Looking back, there were a lot of trolls that were long term posters, probably still trolling elsewhere.

TheCanterburyWhales · 14/06/2020 12:46

We all wanted Pagwatch to let us go and stay.
DaftPunk was a vile creature. So many -isms (racism, disablism) in one head. Could never understand why people seemed to like her.

MrsCastiel · 14/06/2020 12:47

@Billyjoearmstrong I may dislike her but I'd never out her.

She gave her own name and details quite willingly at one point, which led to the discovery that her husband had cheated on his degree! The site was a lot smaller and those of us in the same generation were not as privacy savvy back in the day.

I know who she is because she told all and sundry on a thread many years ago. I wouldnt pass that info on though.

Kljnmw3459 · 14/06/2020 12:47

I sometimes think of Opheliarose (iirc) and how she's doing now, her DH left and she had small kids.
Haven't seen justanotherlurker for a while, he used to be busy on political threads.

Kljnmw3459 · 14/06/2020 12:47

Or she

iklboo · 14/06/2020 12:50

Wilf's mum is definitely still here - Wilf posts too sometimes. They seem to be doing well and happy.

I miss Zombie a massive amount. She was so kind, funny, filthy & encouraging. It broke my heart when we lost her and I'd never even met her in real like.

The lady whose husband had the heart transplant. Full on snot sobs when they got the call they had a heart for him. I was in work at the time, blamed it on pregnancy hormones so I wouldn't get done for MNing at work (even though I was on lunch).

Catthiefkieth - sadly missed. I was on holiday when I heard the news. So sorry for her family.

Billyjoearmstrong · 14/06/2020 12:51

@MrsCastiel of course not! But I remember her well and I could only imagine the insta profile! I once posted a thread when I was about to lose the dream house I once owned when I lost everything bar the clothes on my back - she came on taking about how hers was better as she had a staircase in the kitchen Grin. At least I can laugh about it now.

I had photos of my house and kids on my MN profile back in the day! Shudder at the thought of that now.

KaronAVyrus · 14/06/2020 12:52

Pagwatch really had a beautiful house. Picture postcard pretty.

MrsCastiel · 14/06/2020 12:56

@Billyjoearmstrong oh my days 😂 she really was awful!

MrsCastiel · 14/06/2020 12:57

I'm sure I saw @PagWatch on Mumsnet in the last month or so.

ScrambledSmegs · 14/06/2020 12:58

Wasn't Pagwatch's beautiful house in the back garden of her MIL's? Who hated her for some reason.

This always made me think that her DH was the son of an incredibly rich peer of the realm and they were living in the Dower house. In my head it was all very To The Manor Born, with Pag as a non-snobby Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton. Probably as far from the real situation as you can get though.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 14/06/2020 13:00

I still remember that LaQueen had an Ian Stuart wedding dress - she used to boast about it from time to time. I had no idea who Ian Stuart was Grin
I don't know why that's stuck in my head.
I'm glad it's less cliquey now - but sad that it's also less funny here. Guess the world got serious in recent years!

psychomath · 14/06/2020 13:00

Can't remember the op's name for the life of me but I often think of the Op who's daughter was murdered, if I remember rightly

Was that littlewhitebag? I'm fairly sure she has a daughter who was murdered. Had completely forgotten til you mentioned it Sad

ScrambledSmegs · 14/06/2020 13:05

Ah no worries @Redhair23! It's perfectly reasonably to correct sweeping statements, I'm guilty of making them through sheer laziness so I'm glad that you did.

Institutkarite · 14/06/2020 13:06

@Layoverlife

Parkhead Paradise was the name of that poster.
YgritteSnow · 14/06/2020 13:06

So many saying LaQ was completely made up. Totally not. I see her on IG and other SM, she may exaggerate a bit but she is in RL exactly as she was on here. She was banned repeatedly from here but kept coming back and was recognised almost instantly each time. Haven't seen her for ages now though.

I always wonder about UnlikelyAmazonian, her husband had just left her and run off to Thailand just as I first started posting on MN. I was absolutely staggered that men behaved this way, then my own husband did similar just a few years later. I always wonder how things went for her.

LadyEloise · 14/06/2020 13:07

psychomath
There is a poster posting lately whose daughter was murdered. She appears to be a lovely woman.
Her Mumsnet name begins with P I think.

Trumpton · 14/06/2020 13:07

@selfishteenagers @Littlefiendsusan @CrowdedHouseinQuarantine
@Rollergirl11

TrinityRhino is doing well .

Ernieshere · 14/06/2020 13:09

Parkhead Paradise is always so lovely on threads I have been on.

I feel for her, I really do, especially regarding the circumstances, which she has shared on here.
