By adding spinach to their Macaroni Cheese.
Spinach is only ok on a week day apparently. Who knew?

To be fair, I'm with your DC...

Aquamarine1029 · 13/06/2020 20:00

I say this as someone who loves spinach, but yes, you've ruined it.

Whenwilllifebenormal · 13/06/2020 20:01

Yep... why would you?

LittleMissNaice · 13/06/2020 20:01

You monster.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/06/2020 20:01

#TeamDC.

sparkli · 13/06/2020 20:02

Spinach in macaroni cheese is a travesty, and I love spinach!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 13/06/2020 20:02

I'm so with you, OP! Kale is even better than spinach but macaroni cheese is really bland without some veg in it but amazing with a green veg added in

Glowcat · 13/06/2020 20:03

Mmmmm. Cheesy spinach.

TheMandalorian · 13/06/2020 20:03

Grin cheeky monkeys.
I'm of the opinion that mac and cheese has ruined the spinach.

wowfudge · 13/06/2020 20:04

If your macaroni cheese is bland you're using the wrong recipe.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 13/06/2020 20:06

Mine isn't bland, because I add lovely veg to it! Actually I don't think it's the taste that's bland if it's just pasta and sauce, it's the texture - every mouthful identical, it's just a bit bleh

SephrinaX · 13/06/2020 20:06

Abomination.

SamSeabornforPresident · 13/06/2020 20:08

That's awful! On the side is passable but not in the macaroni. On the weekend. Grin

Gatehouse77 · 13/06/2020 20:08

A bit of crispy pancetta and spinach is very tasty 😋

mbosnz · 13/06/2020 20:09

I think we'd need police horses in the lounge for the rioting that would take place if I desecrated the sacred and all hallowed macaroni that is cheese like that. . .

Whatnext2018 · 13/06/2020 20:09

Kinda have to agree..it’s Saturday, an excuse for less of the healthy stuff..lovely for a week night though and I’d throw brocolli in too.
Tonight I made homemade pizza and was going to add salad, but then thought ‘Nah, I really only want the yummy stuff’
Do like salad and veg etc, but we eat so healthily all week..bring on the junk 😂

skankingpiglet · 13/06/2020 20:11

I'm with you OP. We often have spinach in our macaroni cheese, and DCs are very happy with it. Sometimes I wilt fresh leaves into the sauce, other times I use defrosted spinach and blend it into the cheese sauce to make Monster Macaroni Cheese.

We also like it with flageolet beans, halved cherry tomatoes, and spinach in it.

WinWinnieTheWay · 13/06/2020 20:12

I thought the pop of colour would add interest...

OP posts:
CatBatCat · 13/06/2020 20:16

Put bacon in it if you want a pop of colour.

Spinach? good greif.

WoollyMammouth · 13/06/2020 20:17

Macaroni cheese shouldn’t be bland, if it is then you’re not using strong enough cheese. Spinach is wrong, but bacon yes.

startrek90 · 13/06/2020 20:17

I'm with you op. Though I prefer broccoli, spinach is good too.

When I leave it plain it just seems boring.

UnaCorda · 13/06/2020 20:20

I remember when we were visiting my grandparents we had to have boiled potatoes, carrots and peas with macaroni cheese. Almost completely ruined my favourite meal.

DamnYankee · 13/06/2020 20:20

Monster Macaroni Cheese

That's very clever, PP. My children would not be buying that, however. Particularly on a Saturday night!
Methinks some ice cream might be in order!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 13/06/2020 20:22

They should LTM (leave the macaroni ruiner)

BestestBrownies · 13/06/2020 20:22

FFS! Why did I open this thread?!?

I want macaroni cheese now and I'm on a diet.

You need a trigger warning added to your title OP
