How much child maintenence do you get?

Hope this doesn't come accross as being nosey (absolutely not intended). NC ex gives me £140 p/m for 3yo DD.

Interested in what others get to see whether I'm being unreasonable in challenging this

I get nothing as we're 50/50

Childmaintenence · 07/06/2020 15:41

Oh gosh perhaps I should consider myself lucky to get what I do then. If I challenged this it would likely be through CMS, which by the sounds of things doesn't look too favourable.

Good on those of you who have provided for your family without these arseholes, I'm sure your DC will come to appretiate that.

£25 a week - if DS is lucky and if his Dad remembers.

I feel it's a bit crap, but DS doesn't go without as we don't need this money to survive. It just gets tucked away in an account until he needs something

None,am supposed to get £400 a month for 2 kids, court order. But he left the country about 5 years ago and hasn't paid a penny since. What a guy!

Juliet2014 · 07/06/2020 15:44

£2250 a month
Two children

This is less than 30% of his monthly net income

MojoJojo71 · 07/06/2020 15:45

£50 a week for 7 year old DD

Ugzbugz · 07/06/2020 15:49

Fuck all! He just doesnt ever give me anything even if I ask. He lives with his girlfriend and her daughter and she also thinks it's okay.

CleanandJerk · 07/06/2020 15:49

@GreenPlum

£500 pcm for two kids.
Very similar, €500 per month for two children. I had to fight to get this, had to go to court numerous times and got a court order which he ignored. The only thing that forced him to start paying was the threat that it would be deducted from his salary; he couldn't bear that payroll where he works would know he wasn't the wonderful father he claims to be. He doesn't avail of access.

A grand total of £0

Childmaintenence · 07/06/2020 15:58

@clare45BST He's never met her.

He's self employed so I'm unsure whether it's worth it.

Surprisingly, however, he's consistently paid (despite telling me mothers should never receive money). I'm wondering whether its because no one is aware of her existence (split early pregancy) so perhaps he would rather avoid CMS which may out him (works for his father).

I’m really horrified at those with bad CMS experiences/no enforcement.
DH paid for his daughter for years with a casual arrangement agreed with his ex wife. She started getting arsey as wanted to see his payslips so went via CMS. They wrote to us within 2 weeks and had a formal arrangement in place via them within a month.
We were paying the right amount, btw...

CatFaceCats · 07/06/2020 16:12

£1000 a month for 2 children. That’s pretty much exactly what the calculator says. He’s a high earner.

Scruffyoak · 07/06/2020 16:15

167 per month for 3 dc

quicknameymcnamechange · 07/06/2020 16:16

There's a calculator online which will give you a better idea than asking people whose circumstances will vary wildly

quicknameymcnamechange · 07/06/2020 16:19

Don't accept less just because some people have said they get nothing.

hfrdgftcsdg · 07/06/2020 16:27

£300 a month. Self employed so prob should be more. Never pays on time but pays in the end. Pays and contributes to nothing else. I’ve always said if he ever tried to reduce it I’d just tell him to fuck off. I can’t believe people are accepting £5,£10 or even £20 a week. I’d cut my nose off to spite my face and refuse it.

hfrdgftcsdg · 07/06/2020 16:33

The over night calendar is bullshit in my opinion.
Before they go to school, you can’t work in the day or you have to pay huge childcare costs. Blokes can swan off in their completely normal well paid job, pick the child up at half 5 and then pay less because they had them overnight. Not in my book. I have a private deal set up but I made it quite clear that until you are responsible for working hours of Monday to Friday there will be no “discounts”!

hystericaljellyfish · 07/06/2020 16:37

£0

hystericaljellyfish · 07/06/2020 16:37

For 3 children...

Littleyellowbowl · 07/06/2020 16:42

£220 for DS3 and nothing for DD, it would be the £7pw as he's on benefits, but I don't actually want his money and can manage without it

Bananasplitlady · 07/06/2020 16:45

Nothing at all.

angieloumc · 07/06/2020 17:01

My DD's father is a self employed high earner and now pays £800 a month; he will also buy extras for her, but on the side as his partner 'never had a penny from her ex' so begrudges it. He does say there will be no more payments for her from her 18th birthday (she's nearly 16) even directly to her when she goes to uni. Fortunately I am alright for money and she has money in trust from my ex's father when she turns 21.
It does annoy me when people say how lucky I am to receive 'good maintenance'; no, her father is paying what he ought to.

angieloumc · 07/06/2020 17:02

His partner begrudges it, I should say. He doesn't fortunately.

Thatbitchcarolebaskin · 07/06/2020 17:07

@Flutteryb I have a letter sitting in my drawer addressed to his lieutenant colonel/welfare office that I’m contemplating sending, but I’m unsure if I can bare the potential ramifications (I’m still paying for family court. He’s the litigatiois type- even if he has no case!)
