Tonight it's like all the pressure of the lockdown has blown open! The People reporting white vans are back, but the most exciting thing is the fact a lamb is stuck in the canal. We're talking full on 'ive got mobile lights im going there now' and rallying around to get the sheep out of the canal, but no one knows where it is.

OP posts:
Zaphodsotherhead · 06/06/2020 10:11

Skunks are actually really very cute and unlikely to spray unless really scared.

They are related to ferrets, apparently. Sweet little faces.

Megatron · 06/06/2020 10:15

Dog shit. Posts about dog shit. Photos of dog shit. Photos of dog bins. Photos of dogs having a shit.

It's really nowhere near as bad as some claim and these are mostly posted by the same person who is most definitely a poo troll.

Megatron · 06/06/2020 10:17

Oh and someone posted that a dog owner had 'put my and my family's life at risk by allowing your dog to poo outside my path'.

Disclaimer - not picking up after your dog is indeed discusting disgusting, but FFS.

ememem84 · 06/06/2020 10:19

My fave one is “good and bad [local area] businesses”

So entertaining. Currently it’s all kicking off on there because local beach cafe isn’t accepting cash. Apparently cash is legal tender (only for debt repayments) and the cafe has broken the law. 400 comments later the poster is still adamant he won’t pay with a card and doesn’t understand why businesses are doing this.

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 06/06/2020 10:22

McDonalds

McDonalds

KFC

Supporting local businesses

The Ellie Williams case causing every Asian takeaway owner within a 20 radius to flee (( not strictly local but it's cropped up as a few towns away ))

Black lives matter causing the inevitable all lives matter fuckwits to float to the top.

Seagulls. And the rescuing of full chicks.

Again we're in a tourist area so the pissing, shitting, ambulance blocking due to shit parking, rubbish leaving and illegally camping tourists are getting both barrels

Springersrock · 06/06/2020 10:26

It’s very busy on our local community group

A huge Black Lives Matter v All lives matter argument with some horrifically racist comments

McDonald’s drive through queue will cause a 2nd wave. This changes weekly - it was going to be caused by opening B&Q, then the bowls club, then Burger King and now they’ve moved on to McDonald’s

The new booking system for the tip

Teenagers

Lots of hate towards tourists

Someone who has clearly misunderstood what the R rate is (ours is about 0.45) and is scare mongering

The ongoing roadworks - huge project which will take at least a year and everyone is getting very upset about it

SistemaAddict · 06/06/2020 10:27

Good lord, I'm missing out by not being on Facebook. I used to be and on the local group but it gave me the rage so I left.

The farmer muck spreading was genius 😂

Why is everyone obsessed with Mac Donald's??

BearSoFair · 06/06/2020 10:37

Littering, and the council continue to remove public bins - I admit I've joined in on that one, certain areas including the end of our street seem to have become dumping grounds!

Off lead dogs at the park.

The amount of mopeds zooming around lately.

Tigerty · 06/06/2020 10:44

The water company waking everyone up Grin That’s classic BackforGood

PinkBuffalo · 06/06/2020 10:56

All talk on ours is the houses falling into the sea and kicking off because no one does anything about coastal erosion because the eroding cliffs are a site of scientific interest. That does not help the 5 families who are now left Homeless and potentially many more to come Sad

PinkBuffalo · 06/06/2020 10:57

megatron worrying that the poo troll has ended Up on your comity Facebook group! Grin

11MrsLuther · 06/06/2020 10:58

A spate of missing cats and speculation it could be more sinister.

PolloDePrimavera · 06/06/2020 11:01

It's usually about teenagers having the damn cheek to exist but actually started kicking off last night about BLM, but in a really patronising way, as if the inhabitants were totally unaware of it or what to think just because hardly any non white people live here. And the local MP has twice had a slagging in 12 hours and I'm not sure it has ever happened before.

11MrsLuther · 06/06/2020 11:03

Also booking at the local tip, teenagers, cows behaving oddly, black lives matter with typically racist comment, loud bangs waking people up (it's the army ffs), and s very vocal anti vaxxer....

Megan2018 · 06/06/2020 11:04

Someone has put a tyre swing in a field that has a footpath in (but field privately owned). Debate about who’s irresponsible teens it is. There will be a witch hunt.

BrownSauceOfCourse · 06/06/2020 11:05

@Mangofandangoo

Our local group seems obsessed with one cat, he's a bit feral but has owners who usually post a little daily run down for him, what he has been up to - Local residents post pictures if they see him.

This cat is a fucking celebrity

Is it Dave? If not, we have a celebrity cat too!
GreenTeaMug · 06/06/2020 11:21

We also have a celebrity cat!

And a massive kickoff about the £2.50 ice cream with extra sauce.

We also have someone complaining about a local farrier and that kicked off big time with accompanying threats for suing for libel.

Rather sadly though we had someone ask for advice in relation to her 16 year old daughter and gave really enormous amounts of details about private business and mental health issues... on a facebook community page.....and then when the mother was kindly advised to take it down due to - well- the obvious - kicked off and has started verbally abusing all and sundry in the most extraordinarily violent terms.

Pippapotomus · 06/06/2020 11:26

A local cat rescue was outed for rehoming someone's cat. The cat was chipped but they didn't contact the owner. Poor owner spotted their cat on the homing page, contacted the rescue but the rescue said a new home had already been found and cat was renamed.

Lots of other people had similar stories.

This morning a volunteer commented about how expensive vet bills are. As if this justifies stealing pets for a rehoming fee.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 06/06/2020 11:31

Lots of people being very complimentary about what a good job the village school is doing supporting families at the current time. It's lovely 😊

Makes a change from the usual complaining about parking....

Angelnix · 06/06/2020 11:35

Great news, Deedee the skunk has been found and is safe at home!

GreenTeaMug · 06/06/2020 11:36

when I was growing up I had an imaginary skunk as a pet. I had forgotten that until this thread!

AngeloMysterioso · 06/06/2020 11:54

It’s not recent, and it was on next door not facebook, but our local park has a wall for graffiti artists and somebody did a Union Jack based piece for VE Day. Some Victor Meldrew type actually posted this-

“ Just been for the morning exercise stroll round the park and I see that the official graffiti artists have repainted the wall as they do from time to time, this time, in honour of the many who made great sacrifices during WW11 and in celebration of the 75th anniversary of VE day they have depicted an enormous Union Flag. Pity they didn't check what our flag should look like before they started. They have got the design wrong (some of the white stripes should be wide, some narrow) thus creating what some people might view as an insult to those who we wish to honour. Me, I really think come on, do your research first and get right! Oh, and if you decide to put it right remember that the wider white stripes should be at the top rather than the bottom flagpole end. If no flagpole then on the left.”

I mean, really?!

biggiebiggiebiggie · 06/06/2020 12:25

The mugshot of a convicted paedohile who is repeatedly being run out every house the council move him into - 4 houses within a week, all within a mile of each other and in very close proximity to numerous primary schools. Can't say I feel bad for him.

ProfessorHasturLaVista · 06/06/2020 12:41

Someone dissed the local Hermes driver. 150 posts saying “Oi, lay off Fred! He’s doing an honest day’s work, unlike SOME PEOPLE ROUND HERE”.

Family camping at local (tiny ) nature reserve. Opinions split between “Call Social Services, they have KIDS with them!’ and “Leave them alone, they’re not making as much mess as the local teenagers”.
Family moved on, left a nice note pinned to a tree but spoilt the pleasant tone of the main text by scrawling PUT THIS ON FACEBOOK YOU SAD TWATS!!!

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 06/06/2020 13:09

Just remember a corker from a few weeks ago, 2 pet goats had escaped and were running amok, they ended up chasing some poor guy down the road and were blocking the door to the co op so people wouldn't go in or leave.

They're notorious thugs in the area apparently 😂😂😂
