Tonight it's like all the pressure of the lockdown has blown open! The People reporting white vans are back, but the most exciting thing is the fact a lamb is stuck in the canal. We're talking full on 'ive got mobile lights im going there now' and rallying around to get the sheep out of the canal, but no one knows where it is.

OP posts:
WhispersOfWickedness · 06/06/2020 23:44

Someone's lost a dog, someone's found a dog (not the same dog)

Are they putting a crossing in at the new leisure centre, they have done a dropped kerb but no lights...

One of the cafes have made some colourful pom-poms for the window of a shop a few doors down, so that's nice Smile

Rainbowb · 06/06/2020 23:57

Selling lots more god awful shite...

whatnametopick · 07/06/2020 00:21

£2.50 worth of pick n mix in a pizza box for £15 and afternoon teas aplenty for sale.
Lost and found debit cards, keys and phones.
Litter louts.
McDonald's queues.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 07/06/2020 00:29

biggie four now? It was at three last I checked.

RhubarbBikini · 07/06/2020 00:30

We had a chicken crossing the road the other day.

Normally its hatred of students in the town that's the favourite grumble

LilyMarshall · 07/06/2020 00:42

More and more women joining cults. I mean MLM companies. They are all so excited about their products. Anyone want to join their team?

People going out for the day, angrily taking photos of other people who are clearly ignoring stay home advice and are also out for the day in the same place. How very dare they!

Litter. and poo. Mainly cat and dog poo. Some talk of a possible human Poo...

PUT THIS ON FACEBOOK YOU SAD TWATS!!! Grin

Gooseysgirl · 07/06/2020 00:52
  • Kevin the local Peacock
  • Police helicopters (very single fucking time one takes off from the nearby base... 'does anyone know why there's a helicopter hovering over XXXXX Road')
  • Iain Duncan Smith our wanker from wankeville MP making an extremely rare and totally orchestrated guest appearance litter picking in one of the local parks. Because that's more important than showing any kind of support for his BAME constituents 😠 (he hasn't)
  • Q for McDs
  • BLM... nasty alt-right admin booted a black woman off local FB group for challenging him regarding 'All Lives Matter'
RightOnTheEdge · 07/06/2020 01:18

Lost cats
Found dogs
Dog poo
Bad jokes
Does anyone know who's cows these are?
Bad parking
And a war between the Grumbler page and the *** grumbler no rules.
The no rules group is made up of people who got banned from the main grumbler group and they hate the admin and its fun going between the two to watch them all acting like children and slagging each other off Grin

Masks are compulsory in shops here and many also insist on gloves. It's been windy on and off and the bins around are bucket sized so when they're overfull light plastic blows out quickly. Restaurants have recently reopened but many offered delivery services during the lockdown.

So.... local Italian FB group:

Stop littering your masks and gloves.

A group spent the day cleaning up an area near the village shop today.

(Next morning)

Already there is rubbish around again.

Plus many adverts from restaurants about their delivery services and limited reopening post lockdown relaxation.

Last week: what is that smell? Which idiot is burning rubber while all our lungs are suffering from COVID? Then later: where are all the ambulances and police going? Later still: link to newspaper article - 2 dead and one critically ill. Much condemnation of boy racers until it emerges the two dead were fathers in their 50s. 💔

Occasional notice about a ? lost cat or somebody rehoming a dog.

VenetoResident · 07/06/2020 10:16

And so begins Sunday's posts...

What's kicking off in your local Facebook group?
Heatherjayne1972 · 07/06/2020 10:24

So much moaning on ours fireworks/ dogs barking / rants starting with ‘to the person in Asda who....‘ / the travellers are at x park / dog poo left in the woods / litter Left at x place / I’ve got no water / broadband in x postcode Is down etc etc
And oddly a lot of people leaving Old toys and stuff outside their driveway so other people can just take it away

BikeRunSki · 07/06/2020 13:15

On our village one there is a lady who has been selling the contents of her garage and left by the looks of things. Single shelves, broken vacuum cleaner, random assortment of Kitchen equipment, that sort of thing. Someone has come on and started having a go about her offloading her rubbish. Lots of people jumping to her defence saying that he doesn’t have to read it if he’d not interested. Lots of people jumping to his defence saying that it should be a village information site only. It’s al kicking off.

Yousureaboutthat · 07/06/2020 13:17

Illegal rave at in an abandoned building. Thought that stopped in the 90s! (But maybe I'm just old)

Ginfordinner · 07/06/2020 15:42

I think raves are becoming more popular again. We had a few near where I live last September. The local Facebook page went viral.

Does anyone have Nextdoor?

I think I might have made myself unpopular with a poster who addvertised fpr people to make money from home selling skincare, make up and fragrances. I asked her if it was an MLM? Grin

CazM2012 · 07/06/2020 17:43

A Canadian goose got ran over, there is a witch hunt and I won’t be surprised if it makes the local news (again). They are a nightmare for basically jumping in front of cars round here Hmm

Hippywannabe · 07/06/2020 17:53

Some 16 year old complaining she was photigraphed outside Lidl with her friends because she wasn't social distancing. She is saying she is a child, how dare someone photograph her. Lots of people pointing out it isn't illegal aand just bloody social distance.
I looked at her FB profile. One of her public pictures is her actually standing on top of the altar in the local church, arms stretched out like Jesus.

SayrraT · 07/06/2020 17:53

I think I may have appeared on one today for using a planter to get on my horse. In fairness I shouldn't have done it and I've donated money to the ongoing upkeep and won't do it again.

I went back to see what the issue was (said there was damage - there wasn't on the planter I used). Apparently the whole village knew.

Lordamighty · 07/06/2020 18:34

People not happy with the BLM protests, I live in the NW, the R number is too high anyway. Lots of small businesses unable to reopen, schools to remain closed.

MyDogPatch · 07/06/2020 18:45

Not a Facebook group, but a local forum (London suburb)

Familiar topic : dogshit.
Someone might be living in their car, what to do?
Local park rubbish.
Stolen bikes/scooters.
Virgin Media broadband keeps dropping out.
Whinges about parking.
Councillors asking about local issues (see above Grin)

Witchend · 07/06/2020 19:33

Lots of pictures of McDs litter. Followed by all sorts of comments on McDs, which only opened about 4 days ago.

Someone left their BMW badly parked. (about a foot and a half away from the pavement on a fairly narrow road)
I can't work out from the comments whether the owner was the person who posted it as a joke or whether the owner has been traced and it's broken down, but people are fairly het up about it.

PolkaDotsPolka · 07/06/2020 19:57

The main contributor to ours is the local neighbour watch coordinator... Which is basically a vigilante group in disguise. They "patrol" wearing high-viz body armour... If you want to be a police officer join the actual police!

goose1964 · 07/06/2020 20:10

The litter teenagers are leaving all over our small town, always includes tiny metal bottles.

Fangtasia2020 · 07/06/2020 21:27

Why are some of the roads closed for social distancing?
Lost cat
Lost cat
Lost cat
People leaving bin bags (several) worth of rubbish on the beach.
People dumping disposable bbq in beach bins causing fires.
Lost cat
Ive just seen a parrot
Mcbloodydonalds
Roast dinner deliverys
Lost cat
Dead cat on roadside
BLM protests
The list is endless.
I just want to shout to all the lost catters "cats wander, its in their nature they'll come back when they want".
Its exhausting

hotstepper4 · 07/06/2020 21:32

My local Facebook group is just people moaning about dog poo. People who let their dogs poo, people who don't pick it up, people who tread it in. Literally every third post is about poo.

If it's not poo it's "who can hear that noise" (I live in an industrial port town and it can get noisy) people moaning about seagulls or passive aggressive "to the person that nearly ran my chihuahua over today" posts. Or people threatening to beat each other up. I live in a fairly deprived area.

Oblomov20 · 07/06/2020 21:49

The London protests, teens in the park, when is the dump next open, queue for Macdonalds, local chicken takeaway wrappers left on church memorial stone.
