Tonight it's like all the pressure of the lockdown has blown open! The People reporting white vans are back, but the most exciting thing is the fact a lamb is stuck in the canal. We're talking full on 'ive got mobile lights im going there now' and rallying around to get the sheep out of the canal, but no one knows where it is.

Big argument over whether a cat is lost or "wandering I know whose cat it is"

AppleKatie · 05/06/2020 23:19

Armed police
BLM protests and the politics of that in our area in relation to the pandemic
The Exact location of costco

FluffMagnet · 05/06/2020 23:19

@Paperthin post complete with photos. What baffled me most is that there are only a handful of sad faces and one comment offering to keep an eye out, even though said skunk is "fully armed but will only spray if her life is in danger". I honestly thought it was a hoax, but it was also reported on Heart radio this afternoon. In other news, some ducks have been run over and the Egg Man (God knows ...) is apparently in the pub carpark. Why is no one worried about the skunk?!

Redcrayons · 05/06/2020 23:20

People in the park!
Teenagers!
The queue for Maccies!
Eleventy billion ‘is the market open’ questions

Our council didn’t let the schools open this week, so there’s will they/won’t they for next week.

JudyGemstone · 05/06/2020 23:21

The ethics and logistics of attending BLM protest in the city centre

Tigerty · 05/06/2020 23:22

It’s all kicking off over dog shit. Skanks who bag it up and leave it in trees, skanks who bag it up and throw it in long grass and skanks who flick it under someone’s hedge.

No one will claim responsibility. Some indignant dog owners are claiming it’s ok to put them in a tree because they “always” pick them up on the way back, long grass is perfect (sod kids who want to run in the grass) and it’ll just rot away under someone’s garden hedge.

Usually a debate this heated calls for popcorn but I’m just feeling Envy

bullyingadvice2017 · 05/06/2020 23:22

Our local farmer has been getting fed up for weeks of slobs using his private land to have a day out and then leave a mess. This weekend he got abuse when asking people to leave.....

He got out his muck spreader and Sprayed them all with shit! Pic nics, kids bikes the lot. 🤣😂
The most entertaining weekend on out local fb group.

The poo splattered folk were outraged, 200 comments it git to, then removed as I suspect the police are involved.

ohwellherewegoagain · 05/06/2020 23:23

The duck pond ran dry. Some people were getting hysterical about the duck murdering local council... Fact is its a drainage pit which takes road runoff and which ducks have inhabited. Self congratulatory locals ran hoses out to the pond to save the day. I really can't get excited by this when so many more important things are going on. This crisis is making people a little myopic I think!

Ughmaybenot · 05/06/2020 23:24

Someone took a photo of a bloke pissing on her garden fence, it all kicked off, she did a dirty delete, someone had screenshotted it and reposted it and so the argument rumbles on. WONT SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN vs call of nature innit.
Also, R is 1 in the SW, why is no one stopping for a chat these days and the food standards petition approx every half an hour

cakeallday · 05/06/2020 23:25

The fact that there are ticks in a particular field. There are ticks in every field across the country Grin

ohwellherewegoagain · 05/06/2020 23:26

And don't get me started on s*dding painted stones. I was considering painting some as realistic turds, but then had a word with myself.

Longdistance · 05/06/2020 23:26

‘This twat cut me up and nearly caused me to crash’, cue a photo of a roller skate car 🙄 fly tipping, here there and everywhere. Another picture of an idiot driving a crap car like he’s Lewis Hamilton.
And then your obligatory ‘found this dog’/‘lost my cat’.

BikeRunSki · 05/06/2020 23:26

Someone’s van was pinched from their driveway, and his wife’s car was dragged out of the way to get it and the handbrake is now bust.

Big queue at the tip still.

Some needs buttons to make headband extenders.

Lovely, lovely lyrical poses with beautiful photos from a chap who takes photos of birds when he is out walking, and writes about them and their habitats.

2anddone · 05/06/2020 23:26

Lots of photos of flowers and wildlife on our mixed in amongst complaining about people not clearing up their dog/horse shite and teenagers drinking on the playing field!!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 05/06/2020 23:29

Nothing.

The usual buy and sell of some mangy looking armchairs and bundles of children’s’ books. Music lessons adverts, strangely enough. Cat gone missing.

Otherwise it’s Borington-on-ASR’s.

OddshoesOddsocks · 05/06/2020 23:29

Well it seems that too many people fed bread to the ducks today so the (self declared) pond warden is LIVID as the excess bread tempting rats into the village!

Everyone else seems to be waiting for the chip man. He’s got a bloody loud jingle in a tiny village (and does the same route every week) he can’t be that hard to find!

ohwellherewegoagain · 05/06/2020 23:29

This is a highly entertaining thread. So far it seems that city dwellers are discussing important social issues like BLM whilst rural communities are imploding with nonsense about dog poo, bonfires and aggressive garden singing...

Clevs · 05/06/2020 23:31

Kids hanging around the village hall and messing around on the new, half-built play equipment.

TrashPanda · 05/06/2020 23:36

3 big current topics
*The queues, or lack of, at various supermarkets and fast food places.
*Youths spotted on the roof of a local primary school whilst absolutely not social distancing.
*The Black Lives Matter protest due to be happening tomorrow.

tiredanddangerous · 05/06/2020 23:39

Mine is very very dull. Massive queues for McDonald’s and the tip (people are queuing for 4 hours to get to the tip apparently) and what time does the post office open?

DamnYankee · 05/06/2020 23:41

the most exciting thing is the fact a lamb is stuck in the canal

Actually, that's pretty refreshing.

This morning at 7:15 AM, my local news station reported the CDC reported deaths were down in the US.
At 8:30 this byline/story was gone. A story about how the CDC was worried Americans were not taking this seriously was first in the queue.

My mother would kill me, but JFC - the media is so poisonous right now.

Islandgrown · 05/06/2020 23:41

Ohh,mine is all about Costco, there is a daily thread .about wait times, a separate one for questions about whats back in stock gloves, masks hand sani lysol wipes. if you don't post in the correct bit you get publicly shamed on the page by one of the power crazy admins. Its very entertaining. There is now a new group for all the folks the admins have pissed off set up purely to bitch about them.

easterbrook · 05/06/2020 23:41

McDonald's queues.

Painted stones left in various places for people to find/add to.

A random escaped parakeet has had its photo taken pretty much every day in a different location for the last week, with yet another person asking if it's lost. Yes and no. It's not lost, but the owner can't catch it.

People complaining about loud nocturnal helicopter activity again. We live near a military base, what do you expect?

Mulhollandmagoo · 05/06/2020 23:41

McDonald's chat is rife on ours, lots of people asking how long the que is, lots of people complaining about the traffic from McDonald's, lots of people posting pictures of McDonald's complete with wait times (think we maybe trying to find an average) lots of people declaring normality is returning because McDonald's is now open...you get the picture 😂

Also lots of people confirming opening hours of shops after it's been discovered that some places who are operating reduced hours, haven't updated their opening hours on google. Nowhere near as exciting as a rouge skunk!! 😂

tiredanddangerous · 05/06/2020 23:43

The farmer with the muck spreader is fucking genius. Well done that man!
