Tonight it's like all the pressure of the lockdown has blown open! The People reporting white vans are back, but the most exciting thing is the fact a lamb is stuck in the canal. We're talking full on 'ive got mobile lights im going there now' and rallying around to get the sheep out of the canal, but no one knows where it is.

OP posts:
yearinyearout · 13/06/2020 21:21

A spate of dog napping in the village

First thought: why is it a problem for dogs to take naps?

Chaotic45 · 13/06/2020 21:33

Someone posted a photo of their collection of four golliwog pins saying "comments please". Depressingly Followed by most people (about 20) saying it's not remotely offensive.

I haven't commented, I haven't the energy to try to do the right thing when I know it will end in a public bunfight.

I feel really disappointed that someone would make such a thoughtless and controversial post.

ginghamstarfish · 13/06/2020 21:49

Absolutely nothing, ever. I'd swear there wasn't a town here if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

stairgates · 13/06/2020 21:56

A local waste clearance truck caught fly tipping by a lady at the entrance of her country lane property, good on her! They said they were organising their truck as they loaded it back upGrin

TheoneandObi · 13/06/2020 22:18

Righteous, racist umbrage at a BLM event organised by surfers. God there are some nasty people about.

SuncreamInTheWinter · 13/06/2020 22:44

Please keep walking too close to a swans nest.

People feeding ducks bread.

Massive brawl with riot vans. Lots of "this place is getting worse"

Lots of break ins.

lyralalala · 13/06/2020 22:54

Mine is my sodding horror of a cat

A weekly "Does anyone know this wee cat? He appeared at my door earlier and he's miaowing like he's starving"
Followed by 25 posts debating if he's a stray (she has a collar with a tag with her name, my address and phone number), should they feed him, the finder insisting she's a he despite someone telling her the cats name, a couple of posts debating if I'm neglecting the cat because I have too many kids (just me btw, not DH) and then amusingly one post linking a lost cat post from the next village. The lost cat is a black and white cat and my cat is, clearly from the OP's pic, completely black.

lyralalala · 13/06/2020 22:55

Oh and the obligatory "the teenagers are wrecking house prices by hanging around" posts. Even though they're not

Ohdeariedear · 13/06/2020 22:55

Someone has complained about people cutting the corners/taking short cuts over grassy bits between paved paths and making unsightly dirt paths. Lots of ‘get a grip’ posts, then someone posted a video of them using their favourite short cut, then someone was suggesting a socially distanced guided tour de short cuts. OP very much not impressed at the hilarity.

Makes a nice change from ‘there’s a lamb stuck in the fence by the tunnel’ which happens at least once a week.

LavenderLilacTree · 13/06/2020 23:07

All the slots to go to the tip are booked. Fly tipping is going to increase.

No one can get National Trust tickets, therefore they are going to cancel their membership (meaning the National Trust might go busy and then one will be able to go ever).

Whatdoyouthink10 · 13/06/2020 23:10

Two illegal raves. Stabbings at both, apparently a young lad has died.

LavenderLilacTree · 13/06/2020 23:16

Ooh yes and dog poo

flossiegrippiter · 13/06/2020 23:26

We have a lot of catalytic converter thefts on ours at the moment (London / Surrey border)

flamingochill · 13/06/2020 23:42

I live in an area that's had a low number of deaths :

People not being able to get through on the phone line for an appointment at the tip

People annoyed at dog walkers

People annoyed by cats

Habitater · 14/06/2020 00:12

Here we have:

How long is the queue for the local ice cream farm that reopened as a drive through this week? Yesterday cars were backed up for 3 miles down the main road Hmm

The usual WHO'S DOG POO IS DIS?! U R DISCUSTIN! and complaints about litter in local beauty spots..

Who bashed my car?! Someone drove into someone else and drove off. A witch hunt has now started for the offending driver

Please take my things (aka rubbish) from the end of my driveway (because I can't be bothered to take it to the tip).... Biscuit

Racist graffiti in a local kids play area - which was quite sad really Sad

Mrsjayy · 14/06/2020 00:18

Some.body showing their neighbours shoddy new gutters I can't believe the admins kept it up thinking it was " news: we did have a statue of a Scottish king yesterday vandalised and that was huge news today though Hmm

SisterVanHelsing · 14/06/2020 00:19

Massive barney, fishermen vs. cafe owners, over whether to pedestrianise the quayside.

Buns05 · 14/06/2020 00:27

Warping windowsills and what to do about them, the village institute was open today as a food bank, a family were spotted litter picking, people are selling homemade masks and I think every dog in the neighbourhood has left home because everyone has found one. Oh and 1 cat too... is it a stray?.... stay tuned to find out

TheNorthForgets · 14/06/2020 01:11

We have a similar one about a Nuisance cat. Difference to PPs is that it is an in tact boy cat, he's got no collar, full of fleas, bleeding sores and is mewing loudly to get in people's houses, attacking their cats and stealing food. His owners came on the Facebook post with some friends but said that's what cats do and got defensive having a go at everyone concerned about it. It kicked off. One lassie was annoyed the cat was weeing/spraying Tom cat urine in her open windows and making her house stink and that he should have been snipped. I don't know what else happened but I know the post got deleted. One of the owners friends said on another post that he was going to kick the lassies kitten like a football if he saw it in his garden (I assume in retaliation of her posting?)

Yankathebear · 14/06/2020 01:18

A cat is eating birds. If this is your cat please make him stop.
A lady was almost run over because a tractor drove past at high speed (80 mph!). She shouted at it but it didn’t stop.
Some lovely photos of the swans at the beach. Give them space.

Afishcallledbob · 14/06/2020 07:23

Why are people supporting blm when key workers lives matter more? Hmm

Dog poo

Teenagers having the audacity to leave the house

Pictures of flowers and ducks.

What's eating the baby coots?

Lots of arguments about whether Boris is a good pm or not. (Very conservative area)

People asking for political talk to stop as it's not why they joined the group.

Who's dog is barking? With no mention of which road or anything.

Police car spotted driving towards the small council estate (where I live) with some lovely comments of how we should all have been drowned at birth.

cliffdiver · 14/06/2020 07:27

The noise being made resurfacing the road.

4 months ago it was the state of the roadGrin

cliffdiver · 14/06/2020 07:29

Oh and the usual

'Does anyone have the number for the local Hermes driver?'

Every. Fucking. Day.

emilybrontescorsett · 14/06/2020 07:40

Mine has comments about ASDA and how scummy the people in there are, not socially distancing, followed by comments saying don't shop there, it's much better in Aldi.
There are ducks and ducklings on the local pond.
Had anyone seen the local ginger cat who walks about the estate? Followed by much concern until finally we had a confirmed sighting.

IDontLikeZombies · 14/06/2020 08:33

How to access McDonalds Drive Thru without a car.
BLM
Cross referencing of stolen/lost items with items found abandoned.
Breaches of back court and close etiquette- this is a hot topic in Glasgow and has been for the last 150 years. Its absolutely cut throat and vicious.
There's currently a 6 foot giant bastard of a snake on the loose but apparently its completely fine because he's an old softy, really.
People up to no good with blurry photo evidence.
