Strong, dark, some hint of redemption or not. Fearless taking no shit women that I can soak up and mentally channel at such or whatever the acronym is! Solid writing/story please. I like Three Billboards, Star is Born, Fargo...

Not a film but a series on Netflix - animated: Castlevania. First season has only one kick ass character, another is added in Season 2 (a proper villain) and two more in season 3. No women in need of rescue in that show.

Ocean's 8 is light entertainment, but many capable women.

Handmaid's Tale? June is certainly kick-ass.

Totally agree with Run Lola Run. One of my favourite ever films.

Re Ghost in the Shell - watch the original Anime it's far superior.
Run Lola Run is brilliant.
I introduced my fiercely feminist older DD to my favourite 1980s Italian barbarian film, Hundra, the other week and she loved it. A kind of Spaghetti western version of Xena.
