Strong, dark, some hint of redemption or not. Fearless taking no shit women that I can soak up and mentally channel at such or whatever the acronym is! Solid writing/story please. I like Three Billboards, Star is Born, Fargo...

The long kiss goodnight is an old one but great

magicstar1 · 03/06/2020 20:47

If you’re feeling murderous, the Kill Bill is perfect

colouringindoors · 03/06/2020 20:47

Can't keep up now! OK Dead to me has been seconded as has Mad Max avec le gorgeous Charlize.

This is a brilliant list, thanks so much!

Keep 'em coming Grin

I got frustrated with Dead to Me really quickly, it is just too obvious. Hidden Figures is really good.

Butterfly on a Wheel
Double Jeopardy
The Calling
Tammy
It's Complicated
The Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio
Joy

Lecter is the destroyer, you're right. Starling will never be the same, he always wins even when he loses. How about going for the classics?

Steel Magnolias
Beaches
9-5
First Wives Club
Alien
True Romance

TheVanguardSix · 03/06/2020 20:49

Yes to Kill Bill! DH knows where I'm at when I say, I need my yellow tracksuit and katana sword. He knows!

TheVanguardSix · 03/06/2020 20:50

Oh God yes to Mad Max Fury Road. I LOVE that film. Love it!

ShowPicturesOfLifeNotDeath · 03/06/2020 20:51

Tina Turner is best in Mad Max though!

TorkTorkBam · 03/06/2020 20:52

Alien(s)

The Americans (TV series) - Elizabeth Jennings the soviet illegal is terrifyingly awesome

Jojo Rabbit - **my top choice

Derry Girls - love those gurls.

NCIS (TV series) - love Ziva and the rest.

John Wick 3 - Halle Berry plus dogs

scrumpledtitskin · 03/06/2020 20:53

Thelma and Louise, just seen it again, first time in years.

scrumpledtitskin · 03/06/2020 20:54

Although maybe the ending isn't what you need... 🤔😁

ShowPicturesOfLifeNotDeath · 03/06/2020 20:54

Susan Sarandon is amazing, The Client was good too.

TheVanguardSix · 03/06/2020 20:55

Burn After Reading because I love Frances McDormand and Tilda Swindon is just hard as nails and brilliant. It is also a hilarious movie. It's the Coen Brothers, so you're in safe hands.

nearlynermal · 03/06/2020 20:55

Copycat
Alien
The long kiss goodnight

TheVanguardSix · 03/06/2020 20:56

Oh and Jackie Brown!

BlueBrush · 03/06/2020 20:56

Definitely Alien or Aliens.

nearlynermal · 03/06/2020 20:56

Fried green tomatoes!

peoplearepeople · 03/06/2020 20:56

It was really slated, but we liked Peppermint. It stars Jennifer Garner as a woman whose husband and son are murdered, She goes on to revenge their death.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 03/06/2020 20:56

Captain Marvel, Legally Blonde, hell even Bring It On! Feel good, female centered.

Aworldofmyown · 03/06/2020 20:58

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Buryit · 03/06/2020 20:58

Unbelievable - 8 episodes on netflix. Not 1 but 2 fantastic female detectives investigating a serial rapist. Also excellent female supporting cast.

Mesmeri · 03/06/2020 20:58

Saw Bombshell last weekend. It's a good watch.

Also Misbehaviour is well worth seeing - true story about the women who sabotaged the Miss World contest in the 1970s. It's got Keira Knightly in the central role.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 03/06/2020 21:01

Annihilation on Netflix, wonderful cast, almost all female.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 03/06/2020 21:01

Oh, I want to rewatch Three Billboards now.

Possibly unpopular choice, but I like Deathproof. First half isn't so much what you're looking for, but the second half...

nearlynermal · 03/06/2020 21:02

Fargo!
