Show your Engagement rings!

Hi everyone
Just for fun. I can't sleep and I always loves these types of threads.
I love seeing other people's engagement rings/wedding rings, and if there is a story behind the ring!
Here's mine... it's an antique diamond belonging to DH grandmother, he didn't like the original setting so redesigned it, and this is the end result! I love it.
Looking forward to seeing everyone else's!

DH had my ring made (he knew I liked a 3 stone ring and emerald cut), and my wedding band is made at the same place. I would love another eternity band for when first child is born in September to put on the other side... not sure if that's a thing or not 🤣

Emerald cut tanzanite with baguette cut diamonds on the shoulders. I love it, and when DH bought it I don't think either of us knew it would be my engagement ring! He's offered to upgrade it but I think it's perfect

My original one was an antique with a garnet but the band snapped. This one was my grandma’s and I wear it with my wedding ring.
On our first Valentines Day dh gave me the second ring which I value more than diamonds. He had it made for me and the initials of the stones spell out my nickname.

I lost mine Think I must have left it in the health club locker, and some bastard took it away instead of handing it in.

It was three little diamonds in a row, with fancy shoulders.

Love mine from Ernest Jones. Chose it myself then gave details to DH so he could buy it.
Deliberately chose plain but quite heavy wedding band as I was a nurse so it was the only ring I could wear! Now I'm retired I wear my engagement ring all the time.

Luckily they don't fit, so I have a good excuse for not wearing them.
They've mostly been in a box for the last 8yrs.🤷🏻‍♀️

I have an original wedding ring and band that I love but they're not practical to wear every day. Got this absolute bargain of a set for £500 on eBay. Took it to Ernest Jones to get re-sized and valued etc and it's worth about £4.5k

Mine on the day we got engaged. I absolutely adore it and still wonder at its beauty. DH chose well

A three stone and seven stone eternity.

Mine was set in yellow gold to match my wedding ring but I put on weight and we used the opportunity to change to platinum and my engagement ring was reset to match.

Backwards way around for me! Been together forever, house and two kids, never wanted to get married but eventually had a two witness ceremony just to sort out our legal affairs. Following year was my 40th and our 1st anniversary and DH surprised me with this, recycled gold and topaz. I absolutely love it but it is mahoosive and I get quite scared of scratching it!

I haven't worn my engagement ring for 42 years! I took it off on my wedding day, to make way for the wedding ring, and haven't worn it since! It was a cheap, crappy thing from a high street chain "jewellers" as I recall, best we could do at the time with very limited income (I was still at school and DH an undergraduate).
The wedding ring was cheap rubbish too and I stopped wearing it about 15 years ago! I'm not sure where either of the rings are now but I'm sure I do still have them somewhere.

DH didn't expect to propose to me at the time it happened, it just came out! Afterwards he said he had no idea what to do about a ring, but as it happened my grandfather had been dropping none-too-subtle hints about my late grandmother's diamond ring being available should anyone want it. I presumed it would be on yellow gold and not really my style but actually it was a lovely setting on white gold... and way bigger than anything DH or most people might have afforded. Coming up to our 13th anniversary soon

Here’s mine! My engagement ring is an Art Deco style with a cushion cut diamond. We had the wedding band made to match. I love them so much.
