Just ordered some from ebay. I absolutely loved them when I was a teenager. I was telling my teen boys about them, they googled the titles a laughed at me...little shits.

I'm going to burst into their rooms and make them listen to an excerpt from Trick or Treat at 3am, then we'll see who's scared.

They used to scare me shitless.
Did anyone else used to love them?

Yessssssss I loved them

PepperMooMoo · 29/05/2020 21:27

Oh my god, loved them! I'm going to google some titles!!

Ouchjuststoodonlego · 29/05/2020 21:29

I loved them and was terrified of them in equal measure.
There was one about a murder victims body being concealed inside a snowman that scared the hell out of me.

WhycantIsleep · 29/05/2020 21:30

I used to love these too. Funnily enough I was only looking them up the other day. When I was about 14 I think I read pretty much every one in the library over the course of the summer holidays.

PinkBuffalo · 29/05/2020 21:33

I do not remember any details but do know I loved point horror as a young teenager. This is how it worked for me
Young child - goosebumps
teen - point horror
Adult - Stephen king

One lot kind of led to another Smile

vampirethriller · 29/05/2020 21:34

I loved them. I've been trying to remember what my favourite was called. High school students were turning into monsters, one girl managed to blow them all up before turning into one herself.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 29/05/2020 21:35

Yes I loved them and bought loads a couple of years ago for DD. She loved them too, she’s 14 now and still enjoys them. I think the Diary was my favourite, DD likes the Cheerleader

Juanmorebeer · 29/05/2020 21:35

LOVED them! Not as much as the Point crime ones though

GrumpyHoonMain · 29/05/2020 21:36

I preferred point fantasy personally

LivingDeadGirlUK · 29/05/2020 21:36

Oh yes I had so many of these! the forbidden game series was a fav along with the vampire ones.

MarieQueenofScots · 29/05/2020 21:37

Oh yes loved them from being 8 or so.

Didn’t find them in the slightest bit scary though!

UpToonGirl · 29/05/2020 21:37

Loved them, bought the Forbidden Game trilogy a few months ago in a charity shop. I used to hit all the libraries in my area looking for them. I liked Fear Street as well.

Littlegoth · 29/05/2020 21:38

I still have most of mine!

TheChippendenSpook · 29/05/2020 21:38

I've read a few recently! I got them on Amazon Kindle but they don't have many of the stories in there. Mother's helper was my favourite and I didn't see that one.

2beautifulbabs · 29/05/2020 21:39

Yes they were brilliant loved them just brought back memories now and keen to get some Myself again to re read 😃

Mycatsmellsbad · 29/05/2020 21:42

Oh that’s a blast from the past! I’ve got mine on my bookshelf -holding on until my boys are old enough to read them - will have to wait a few years but I’ve kept them for 30 already.

I was tempted to re-read them a while ago but didn’t want to ruin my happy memories of early teenage years getting terrified and feeling grown up reading them. I suspect they will seem a bit rubbish now.

Gammeldragz · 29/05/2020 21:43

Loved than. Was trying to remember the other day what age I was when I read them and whether DD(10) can read them yet (she's read Hunger Games).
I do remember they were quite scary sometimes, so maybe not!

Gammeldragz · 29/05/2020 21:44

@Ouchjuststoodonlego

I loved them and was terrified of them in equal measure. There was one about a murder victims body being concealed inside a snowman that scared the hell out of me.
This was ripped off (IMO) in another thriller I read recently! That one has always stuck with me.
Daisychainsandglitter · 29/05/2020 21:46

I loved point horror! My face was the one where someone got fed to some Pirahnas. I think it was called the Hitchiker by R.L.Stine.
I read so many of these books!

sestras · 29/05/2020 21:47

I loved these. Also loved the audio books

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 29/05/2020 21:51

Oh I’ve a huge pile of them in my dad’s loft!

Gammeldragz · 29/05/2020 21:51

Ooh, I have Kindle Unlimited and some of them are on there!

2beautifulbabs · 29/05/2020 21:53

@vampirethriller
I think the one you've described as it sounds similar to one I read as a teenager and really liked was by Christopher pike called monster.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 29/05/2020 22:08

Oh yes I love them, still got half a bookcase full. I loved trick or treat, wasnt that the one where the girl killed her best friend but couldn't remember.

Livpool · 29/05/2020 22:11

I loved these! I would happily read them again!

Although saying that I read Town Mouse and Country Mouse to my DS (4) earlier and loved it! So perhaps I need to appreciate more adult literature 😂
