Just ordered some from ebay. I absolutely loved them when I was a teenager. I was telling my teen boys about them, they googled the titles a laughed at me...little shits.

I'm going to burst into their rooms and make them listen to an excerpt from Trick or Treat at 3am, then we'll see who's scared.

They used to scare me shitless.
Did anyone else used to love them?

Yes, Christopher Pike was amazing also! Slightly older than point horror I would say, a good stepping stone to Stephen king.

LucilleBluth · 29/05/2020 22:25

I'm very jealous of the posters who still have theirs. I used to spend my pocket money on them in John Menzies...god I'm so old. I have no idea what my mother did with mine, she must have charity shopped them along with my stack of Just Seventeens, cow.

I've ordered Trick or Treat and Cheerleader. I'm actually excited.

Yes I looooved them!!! My favourite were the ones by Ritchie Tankersley Cusick (sp?) and Diane Hoh.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 29/05/2020 22:34

I've only read this one (a triple, The Babysitter). Got a box of my old books from my folks a while back and this was in it.

@2beautifulbabs yes! Thank you. Been trying to find that for nearly 20 years. I'd no idea it was by Christopher Pike.

kyles101 · 29/05/2020 22:40

Loved these! R L Stein was my favourite. I used to get the triple collections from the local bookshop. New book smell, dreamy

Timinfuckingruislip · 29/05/2020 22:43

I still have a stash if them at my parents house and re-read then when I stay. Also loved Christopher Pike

ComDummings · 29/05/2020 22:45

I loved them! I was so young when I started reading them, they used to freak me out a little but I’d always have to read another one.

UpToonGirl · 29/05/2020 22:46

Christopher pike did a book for adults, Season of Passage, it is one of my favourite books of all time. Even DH enjoyed it and he usually hates everything I recommend.

DobbyLovesSocks · 29/05/2020 22:50

I LOVED point horror as a teen. First one I read was freeze tag. Had so many but they got lost in a house move Sad

Icanflyhigh · 29/05/2020 22:50

I LOVED these books - we had a swaps group at school and would pass them back and forth between us.

DennisTMenace · 29/05/2020 22:50

I loved the babysitter books. Later watching Scream, it felt heavily influenced by them.

MoMagic · 29/05/2020 22:57

I was obsessed with them and still have almost 100 of them in the attic, including spin off’s. I can’t wait for dd to start but she’s only 8 so too young. I loved The Stranger and all the Babysitter ones

Icypop · 29/05/2020 23:00

mcdog · 29/05/2020 23:01

Was there other "point" series too??? Or have I made this up from my youth?

Timinfuckingruislip · 29/05/2020 23:04

Am just wishing I could go to my parents to pick some up! Trick or Treat was my favourite.

Battysace123 · 29/05/2020 23:05

Ooohhh yess! The lifeguard, trick or treat, call waiting, the boyfriend and beach party are the ones I can remember from the top of my head

Crispsnatcher · 29/05/2020 23:06

I finished reading The Hitchhiker 2 days ago. Last week it was Fatal Secrets. I read them all the time, I got a huge collection for my 32nd birthday 😂

mammmamia · 29/05/2020 23:06

Ooh I read these but I don’t remember loving them as much as I loved Christopher Pike! Those were absolutely terrifying!

imgardening · 29/05/2020 23:07

Yes! My favourites were Teacher's Pet, The Window and The Snowman.

Crispsnatcher · 29/05/2020 23:08

@mcdog - there was also Point Crime. I had a couple of those but mostly PH as a teen.
